You don't have to buy the map piece, seriously. Just talk with the Captain about the map, and then with Gaboonga. You'll get the level.

I'm usually playing the game on the way that I clear all evaluable levels. That's how I passed WA!
(Tho I just cheated at those in the Arcade playroom. Some of those were too annoying for me. )
