Re: New Level (Advanced) -- Deja-Vu V
... talk about coincidences! (I'm not religious, so I refuse to call them anything else, but if you're religious, feel free to see a divine touch here) I'm foreign enough to have no idea that this is a super-popular Anglican hymn without looking it up on Wikipedia. So I had no musical context for it...

New Level (Advanced) -- Deja-Vu V
I was replaying "Loof and the Troll" from WSW recently and thought "hey, maybe there was a more difficult solution planned originally, no way the solution on the MS page was the intended one". I think I'm right -- in the original level, you can do a complicated reflector set-up that feels much more ...

Re: New Level - The Melody of Dust *
OK, I know it's been a very long while, but I just couldn't see the opening on the spheres for the longest time. I never peeked at the solution, because it looked like something truly beautiful that I should stick with, but eventually I just put it away for a while as a level I didn't solve... and o...

Re: A bit of trickery in Secret Worlds...
Double post, but I just realized that you can apply the "unsafe" speedrun route to avoid wasting the first box in the keyless solution. Then you can avoid using either one wooden box or two metal boxes, so even in the keyless solution you can save objects on this level. It's that exploitable. ...

Re: A bit of trickery in Secret Worlds...
Sure, because you just stuff everything through the white TP.
Though the "safe" all-keys solution that uses only a few boxes is probably even simpler.

Re: A bit of trickery in Secret Worlds...
I haven't tested, but it might count as gold. I already did it normally as gold, so... even if it would count, I wouldn't know. Getting to that point with a new player file is a bit of a chore, unless I just Ctrl+F9 my way through. Wow, this is a quick way to complete the level. No, not really. Spee...

A bit of trickery in Secret Worlds...
So I was testing out high scoring in "Kaboom! Cave" (5880, I think it's possible to do a bit better but the best strats on this specific level are really difficult and unforgiving) when I realized a certain peculiarity about the layout. A little bit of testing and... done. It's pretty simple,...

Re: New Level - Extreme Sports
To put it extremely simply: not everyone is a fan of insanely hot pepper. That's, basically, what you created, IMO -- the action level equivalent of an insanely hot pepper. As for the cannons, maybe after a few days of solid practice I'd be able to judge better when to step into the line. After all,...

Re: New Level - Extreme Sports
This level is a well-built, precisely tuned exercise in frustration. I built a few levels like that myself ("Sprinter Cell" comes to mind), so I'm not in a good position to judge, but this is a really cruel gauntlet. The later parts of the level look a tiny bit more manageable, but the cannon part i...

Re: RTW Tricks
The round/timer thing is actually used in WSW, I believe... Trampolines 201 The official RTWP set teaches that trampoline jumps get extended if you come from another trampoline. However, it doesn't teach you that all involuntary movement works the same way. So, for example, you can have a single tra...

Re: RTW level highlights since November 2009?
Some level makers have A LOT of good stuff: Mark is my favorite (Amadeus!, Mark, brentnor, Jordan32 and a few other usernames are all him), kiki has some fantastic boulder puzzles, Chip is great (although I haven't solved that much of him), etc... But honestly, my list would be mostly just a lot of ...

Re: New Level -- Security Through Insanity
Copied to my website and re-encoded because it only played in VLC, not any browsers. Yes, your re-encode works. I originally thought it was just my Opera acting up. Amnon's file does work when it's downloaded, and not just in VLC, but browsers can't show it, for some reason. Your version works just...

Re: New Level -- Security Through Insanity
Ah, sorry, I was absent here for most of the day. I haven't seen Amnon's solution yet, so I don't know if his moves are exactly the same as mine, but the "big picture" should be the same -- there are simply no other options. (EDIT: Just watched and it's exactly the same move for move, finally I made...

Re: 'Chomping at the Bit' without using boulders or steel boxes
Ah, yes, swapping the characters at the end allows you to completely ignore the boulders and steel boxes. Nice. I'm usually the one to discover all kinds of alternate solutions, but it seems like I was too focused on the regular solution here to think for longer than a few seconds and discover this ...

406?!?!
Yikes.
I was thinking of making some replacements myself and filling in the gaps with Kevin MacLeod and other royalty-free music... but yikes. Even with Kevin MacLeod, there's no way I can compose that much good stuff in short order. Sorry, no can do.

Re: A Midnight Synergy Update
How much custom music is there, anyway? And how integral is it? Most could probably be replaced with the regular in-game tracks, anyway, to make sure it isn't just silent.

Re: New Level (Advanced)- Peegue in an Explosive Castle
For a joke, I once made a level where you exit just by pushing a boulder into a barrel, but that barrel was connected to MANY other barrels, invisibly hidden in walls. So the level wasn't a challenge, but you'd get the largest unexpected BOOOOOOM all of a sudden. This explosive castle isn't as...

Re: New Level - Robots
Obviously, I'm biased, but even if you aren't planning on actually playing it, I'd still recommend downloading my "Redux" version, opening it, going "are you kidding me?!" and "no way, Muzo, that's crazy" and closing it again.

Re: New Level - Robots
I appear to be a bit stuck. https://cadence.gq/api/images/72c4d7 So I believe the goal is to make the UFO destroy all the prisms to get them out of the way, then to push the two wooden boxes into the water, then to push 4 of the 8 link spheres into the water to complete the bridge. Trouble is, I ca...

Re: New Level -- Robots Redux
Yes, I forgot about the UFO glitch when designing this version.
Obviously, the glitch solution is not what I was intending, but since the "normal" solution doesn't use glitches, I'm not bothered by the glitch solution enough to try and remove it.

New Level -- Robots Redux
Based on Aryan's level "Robots", uploaded with permission. List of changes: 1) Only half of the link spheres exist now. This makes sure that you need every single object on the level to solve it. 2) The two prisms on the outside were changed to a steel box and an ice cube. The prism generator...

Re: New Level - Robots
The UFO can enter through the OTHER yellow gate, on the right side of the room. No barrels there, so only one prism (of the outside two) is required for the shot.
I'll post "Robots Redux" in a separate thread now.

Re: New Level - Robots
Just checked the newest version -- yes, the old loophole is fixed. If you value your sanity, you now have to do the finish in, more or less, the intended way. You can still abuse the wooden boxes to finish without using half of the link spheres, but it doesn't change the overall solution too signifi...

Re: New Level - Robots
I imagine this level would be harder if I was doing it the intended way... your planned ending involves prisms, correct? The level can be solved much easier than that... After you divert the z-bot to the yellow button area, you can use the conveyor in the bottom left corner to redirect both wooden b...

New Level -- Security Through Insanity
I was trying to disguise something for a particular puzzle idea, but I failed... so instead I built a different puzzle using the failed "disguise".
The actual sphere movements aren't too difficult in and of themselves, it's all about figuring out what to do.
Have fun!

I also solved this not in the intended way. Did anyone complete the first sokoban on its own? I know it's late and it's been ages since I've last been here (more consumed with other stuff lately), but sure enough. Both sokobans are doable on their own. The key to the first one is to figure out how ...
