New Level -- Run For Fun

Post by Muzozavr » Sun Sep 24, 2006 1:19 pm

This level is so hard that it's almost impossible.
But you can do it!
Even though the layout looks pretty easy at first, it's surely the trickiest and the most difficult action level I have ever made. And no, the Sprinter Cell level is not an exception!

DISCLAIMER: I'm not responsible for any torn hair. That's your decision to tear your hair with a frustrating level, or not to tear.

Have... fun?

I've done it myself. I'm not such a bad one to upload truly impossible levels.
(But I'm enough of a bad one to upload almost impossible levels...)
And please, don't say that I didn't warn that it's hard.

As for me, change 'almost impossible' to entirely impossible

Are you still in trouble?
Hint:
If there is no way except the way I know, you will need to move while the level is still loading.

The hint means to go immediately -- even before the lights are fully on!
If you have a too fast computer, and it comes immediately.
Use slow programs to slow it down.

Walkthrough:
Before the lights are fully on, almost immediately move left, up, right, left, right, and keep walking left and right (lights are on already!) till the left side only has one box. Push it two tiles up, and wait for it to be destroyed.
Now use the "sharp shooter" trick: avoid the UFOs but you must cause them to shoot. Walk right and left, timing it right, but remember that you cannot do it endlessly, as the side UFOs keep destroying the boxes, and will eventually kill you. Slightly before that, a few of the upper UFOs will be shot, giving you some space. Run through.
Rest in peace, Kym. I hardly knew ya.

Good lord Muz...

what is this :(

I'm thrilled you posted your method of "solving" this; I might have never made my video solution were it not for the solid directions. :?
Your only little stinker that's absolutely NOT a z-bot by this name,
Jutomi~

Also, if you want to see my level list, here it is! :D
(Also: List of Hubs, WA Manual)
Oh, and my YT wonderland channel. Forgot about that.

Ah yes, since this was brought back to people's potential attention, I will make a special note to everyone here that I do apologize. I drew the layout, then threw Stinky at it until I eventually figured out one consistent way of making your way through. At the time, I guess I wanted a "danger all around" feel, which this level does achieve, but playability was very much forgotten in the process.

As sadistic as Sprinter Cell was, at least that level was very methodical in its hair-pulling pinpoint precision, no open-ended unpredictable shenanigans. This one... if you know a setup, it's easier than Sprinter Cell, but the process of discovery is just ridiculous.

Of course, I was 13 at the time -- evidently enough to have made "Cave Walk", which I still think is one of my highlights, but not enough to realize that a level like this may not have been such a good idea.
