New Advanced level:: "Avant Garde"

Post by °°pathways°° » Sat Oct 28, 2006 11:50 pm

Here's the first Mark & Andy collaboration.
It is quite... how shall we say, "Avant Garde". Enjoy :!:
You are surrounded by a pristine forest, but, most of your troubles lay inside. :|
{Please don't forget to get the new texture as well.}

I'm not sure if I did this as intended, I had to move extremely fast in a few spots to place objects where I needed them. Of course there were lots of places where doing the 'two-step' was mandatory

Lots of fun and quite a workout, thanks A & M! I'm looking forward to your next one, I think...

:D :D :D I had lots of fun playing this beauty, The fast finger two step came in handy for sure, Lots of neat puzzles to work out.

I loved the opening sequence, Knowing when to move and when not to move.

The texture is very pleasant to look at and of course the design is simply brilliant. Great job to the both of you.

Looking forward to your next level. :D :D :D

Brilliant puzzles sofar and what a great opening move.

I thought I'd found a solution, but the fire goes right through the prism. Is this a familiar glitch??? :? :?

There's a clue in the sign by the cannon.

Trust me on this, you did it the intended way.
There's only one way to solve this one.

Just to let you know that I think this puzzle is brilliant
and looks wonderful!

I'm still working on it though ... :o

I got through the first and second rooms (each a marvellous little puzzle on its own), found 2 different ways of disposing of the chompers. Read your impenetrable sign by the blue sphere. Read your equally impenetrable sign by the cannon.

Stuck by the sticky cube at the moment ... back one day!

Here is some help for the two impenetrable signs:

"Green Cannon or Red Herring?"
If the green cannon doesn't help you, perhaps it is a red herring in disguise.
There is a red venus fly-trap that can remove such red herrings.

"I can steer the other two, with this sphere of blue"
To get the ball rolling, so to speak, first use the only accessible sphere on the left side.
This sphere can control the other two spheres and vice versa.
So if the red herring above doesn't work, perhaps something new and something blue just might.

There are two ways of destroying the Chompers, but only one will see you home.

To blast the middle box, place the reflector just below the white gate.
As the cannon fires, quickly step off the aqua button onto the yellow button allowing the blast to pass through both gates.

I have worked my way to the 3rd room (on my own) but after thatImage

If I place the steel box on the pink button to get to the next room then the cannon breaks the box. What do I put on the red button? Can use the spheres to kill the chompers but what about the cannon. Can't use the prsim & the barrel cuz the cannon only shoots straight ahead.

Help......pleeze (in nice normal terms) so another "thickie" can understand.

TASHA wrote:I have worked my way to the 3rd room (on my own) but after that I'm lost.
Here is the solution for the third room:
After the cannon fires push the metal box up and then down again to protect the wood box.
Push the other two wood boxes right into the water.
Push the bottom box on the red button.
After the cannon fires, push the metal box down and slide the cannon left inside the red gate and step aside.
When the cannon fires again, it will destroy the box on the red button and consequently destroy itself as the gate closes.
Push the box in front of the large tree left into the ditch by the two Teleporters.
Roll the left blue sphere left to lure the middle sphere out.
Push the barrel down so it beside the Sticky Cube.
Roll the red sphere right.
Roll the middle blue sphere down and left into the ditch.
Push the metal box into the ditch to complete the bridge.
Use the prism as a stopper to position the left sphere to destroy the barrel beside the Sticky Cube.
There are a couple of extra moves (up and right) which will roll the far right blue sphere into the water on top of the submerged red sphere and complete the exit bridge.
Now roll the left blue sphere down to destroy the barrel beside the Sticky Cube to collect the coin.
Slide the prism on the red button to collect the last two coins and exit.

WOW!!! What a brilliant level you two 8) 8)

If you see from my previous post, I actually had completed the reflector/prism room before you posted the help (which I was so pleased about because that room was such a good puzzle in itself :D ). I had also got as far as doing the right thing with the cannon/red gate and also had the barrel in the right position - I just couldn't work out what to do with the spheres!

Excellent level - BRAVO to you both! :D

I was in the same position as Lillie, I mean the same situation. Solved the first part of the 2nd part, and then the 2nd part of the 2nd part, and even the first part of the 3rd part (the red Venus flytrap), but the 2nd part of the 3rd part had me baffled forever. So thanks for that walkthrough!

FANTASTIC LEVEL !!!!! :D :D :D :D

Thanks for the walk thru for the 3rd & 4th rooms. This really was an absolutely brilliant level & I know I would never have accomplished it without your help.

WELL DONE BOTH OF YOU!!!

Thanks for the walkthrough. Made it on my own until destroying the cannon but then I was stuck. So the help was appreciated very much.

Brilliant level and very tricky. Thanks :D

Finally finished this one. :D :D

An absolutely stunning level - so ingenious.:stinkycool:

Thank you both for this definitely "avant garde" level,
and for the help with solving that third section.
I wouldn't ever have managed to complete it on my own.

Finally got there...

There was one point in the walkthru that I did not get:
it says quite early to place the barrel next to the sticky cube, but I could not complete this level without having to use the barrel somehwere else first, to help direct the left-blue ball (otherwise, the right-blue ball would not move and so the final bridge could not be crossed).

Did I miss something?

The above walk-thru above addresses the left blue ball's extra moves to complete the exit bridge:

A prism (not a barrel) is used to stop the rolling blue ball.
A barrel would only result in blowing both to smithereens.

There are a couple of extra moves (up and right) which will roll the far right blue sphere into the water on top of the submerged red sphere and complete the exit bridge.
Exactly so - but when I roll the left-blue ball up and right, the result is that it is no longer in line with the barrel-next-to-the-sticky-cube.

Now in order to bring it back in line to a position from which the sticky-cube can be blown, I had to use two objects, and besides the prism there is no other object around, so I had to use the barrel as well (then afterwards of course, move it to its place next to the sticky cube).

The fact is, that with the barrel I could complete this level, but without it I could not...

Roll blue ball left against tree (not prism).
Push prism under left TP and roll ball up.
Place prism just right of floating box and roll ball right.
Now push ball down and destroy barrel beside sticky cube.

Indeed I did not see the possibility of stopping the ball by the tree - Thanks!

Couldn't do this one without your help.
In fact, I did most of the spoiler correctly (to my sheer amazement) but I didn't think about filling the bridgetile near the cannon -- the pink button had me going round and round.
It's amazing how sometimes you can miss one simple move that the whole solution hinges on.
Brilliant level -- thanks.
Rest in peace, Kym. I hardly knew ya.
Rest in peace, Marinus. A bright star, you were ahead of me on my own tracks of thought. I miss you.

This was a real challenging level. I could finish the first parts on my own, and the rest without highlighting the spoiler, but not without watching some screenshots, and reading a bit here and there.

Thanks for the fun! :D
