New Level- Gone in 40 Seconds

Post by DiscGolfer » Mon Jan 19, 2004 12:53 am

I was going to enter this for the contest, but I saw that Sharon's son had just put up a 40 second puzzle, so I went ahead and posted this one. Kinda' weird
I'll have to come up with something else now. :?

DiscGolfer,
As I've stated before, we seem to on the same wave-length. Just downloaded your level and can't wait to play it. 8) I'm still trying to come up with something for the competition. I can't wait to see everyone's entries. Should be fun! :D

Neat Level! You really should've entered it into the competition!

It would've been nice though if you could throw in some bonus coins somewhere. On my first successful try I got the lowest score ever for a level (10). I've subsequently improved to, coincidentally, a score of 40. [Edit: now got up to 90.]

I also noticed that you've found yet another way for Stinky to walk on water. (Well, visually anyway.)

level needs fix!

Post by LinkyNStoof » Mon Jan 19, 2004 6:23 pm

Bad news, DiscoGolfer: I just found a way to "solve" your level with 39 seconds left on the clock! [Hint: guess how many rainbow coins I collected?]

It should be easy to fix though.

Maybe it's a blessing in disguise after all that you didn't enter this level into the competition.

(Does make me wonder how they'd handle this sort of situation during the competition. I'll probably make a post about that on the competition thread...)

All right, what did you do?
It's only a 40 second level. How did you finish it in one second?
DiscoGolfer, eh? 8)

Yes, this same thing happened to me. When you go thru the blue transporter you can exit right then if you step down. (However, I have not figured out how to solve this one and get all the coins yet!)

I did the same thing! I wondered if it was on purpose... I"m still working on this level, too. I keep getting Stinky shot or trapped! :? I'll figure it out though.....I hope! Very challenging level.

I finally got it! That 40 second time limit was tough. Really liked this level. :)

Hi DG,

When the exchange started off I tried to reply to everyone's levels but lately it just hasn't happened with so many coming out (& so little time)

This one stands out in my mind as an awesome level, very challenging, compact with fantastic design. You're definitely improving!

I just submitted my level for the comp the day before - Gone in 40 seconds would definitely have ranked among the best but I'm sure you'll some up with something equally impressive.

Notice how quiet it's been here on the levels board... can't wait for Feb 5!

Cheers

Hi all,

Yes, it has been quiet! Wonder why??????????????

Gone in 40 Seconds..... I have gone and gone and gone so many times that it's possible I'll disappear forever!

I agree with Robbie on both counts, (a) haven't had time to reply to all the levels and (b) You really should have entered this in to the comp.

Good luck to all of you, it's gonna be Grrrrrrrreat! :) :) :) :)

Thank you for your kind words! That really means a lot to a struggling level designer. :D
Do you think I could just throw a gate on top of the exit, rename it, and enter it?

I have to admit that if I can finish my contest entry, like it has begun, you'll have blisters on your fingers.
It's brutal! My students won't even try it because the start is so difficult. It is a timing/speed nightmare that leads you into another timing/speed nightmare. It involves both Stinky and Loof. There are conveyors, water, transporters, UFO's, and a very pesky cannon. So far, it takes up less than half of the board. 8)
I just need to figure out how to end it....

BTW- It's going to be called- "Lightning Strikes" :D

PS- I have discovered another quirk. If you think that Stinky and a boulder travel at the same speed, "Lightning Strikes" will change that.

Hi Maureen,
I'm still here.
It's disc golf season here in the Ozarks. Not much time for playing levels, much less creating them.
I have been amazed at the quality of contributions by everybody. It is amazing!!!
I play in the World Doubles Championships this weekend. I won as an amateur last year. This year I'm back with the same partner, but we are playing as pros.
I need some UFO's and zee-bots to knock down a few tress for me near San Saba, Texas. That would make the courses we are playing much easier.
Take care,
DG
PS- I do have a pretty neat idea for a level...
