Very great! I'm little confused because I know a game called Happyland Adventures

Peegue's puzzles are too confusing without a paper, so I'll try later.

I love the look of the new game so far, can't wait to see it in 'real life'. It would be really great if it was ready for Christmas, but I'm patient so I'll wait as long as it takes. Come to think of it I don't have much option really.

Conratulations to Liz for getting her mammoth Coin Quest series recognised in Midnight Post. It could be published as a separate game in it's own right with 75 levels. Well done Liz. 8) :D

I've played Zork too, a while back, I could never get very far in it
My dad, however, beat all three of them!

The new game looks so intriguing. I can hardly wait for it to come out.

Thanks for all your kind comments about Coin Quest. I hope you all had as much fun playing as I had making the levels.

Thanks all for the comments - glad you like the look so far.

Popo: Xmas 2006 would be great. I honestly don't know if it will happen, though. We'll keep our fingers crossed.

Well, now's your chance to beat them (see the free downloads on that page). ;) I beat I and II, but never III. One of these days I'll have another go at it - I always thought III was the best in terms of atmosphere (spooky and a little unsettling) and quality of writing. I still have vivid images in my head of the great underground ocean (and the ghostly ship that sails by in the fog).

Patrick - are they giving away all three games for FREE? I couldn't really understand the download page properly  I did download three things - but the files were tiny and I guessed I had got the wrong end of the stick!

I played I and II some time ago - loved them! :D

Yes, the first three (+ the bonus new "fourth" adventure, The Undiscovered Underground) are completely free downloads. And yes, they are tiny files. Remember, they used to just fit on a single sided 5-1/4" disk. :D Times sure have changed.

Am I right in thinking these are text based games and have no graphics or sound, or did I do something completely wrong? :?

I thought it was a bit much giving away three HUGE games

Yep, just text. This is 1980, remember. Vintage, baby! :D

(and although it might not have the flash of modern games, those brave enough to wander into this world will find a very deep and involving game well worth your time. Or maybe it's just nostalgia talking. ;))

I think it may be just nostalgia talking. I used to play these sort of games on the C64. A lot of the time it wouldn't understand what I was telling it to do and would come back with 'I don't know how to ....whatever I'd told it to do'. I would alter the way I had asked it and try again, only to be told the same thing. After so long I would tell it to %@*#! off, and it would tell me 'I don't know how to %@*#! off'!

Oh, those were the days.

Wasn't the C64 something that Sinclair invented - sounds like a fun way to play/travel

No wonder I was confoozled about the Zork games, if I remember, each game had about 4 discs - no wonder it was a different game :D

Commodore made the C64, Sinclair made the Spectrum...and that little car thingy, the C5 I think. They don't look much like one another but it's easy to get confused.
