Yep, I used my pickaxe to mine the meteorite. I don't let that meteorite heads kick my ass, with meteorite I made a yellow phaseblade and a green phaseblade

I wouldn't say 2d Minecraft even though its inspired alot by minecraft. It is amazing though bought it a day after it came out.

I played for a few hours and eventually got bored of it. I prefer Minecraft, but that's just me.

I'm going to say I agree, for three reasons.

First off - If the point is building things, then it doesn't really work well. There's literally no depth to it like there is in Minecraft. It's just... not as fun.

Second - If the point is exploring caves/dungeons/etc. as I've so often heard, it takes way too long to get to it. If I haven't gotten to the main gameplay within two hours in any game, as far as I'm concerned it's not worth bothering with. Even Half-Life or Half-Life 2 get to it faster than Terraria (and HL1 has a really long intro while HL2's first two chapters are faffing about with NPCs).

Third off - Even discounting the above, at first the game just plain isn't fun. Being bombarded by enemies while I'm trying to build my first shelter is not my idea of "fun". Even in Minecraft you have more time to build a house before getting bombarded by enemies.

So long story short - IMO, Minecraft's existence (or any other better dungeon-crawler-game-thing) + Taking too long to get to the point + Frustrating/Tedious start = 3 strikes, you're out.

Also, just on the record - Even if Terraria is one of the best games ever later on, if it's not got my attention properly within the first two hours, as far as I'm concerned, it's not worth my time.

So... On a scale of one to ten (because that's how I roll), I'd only give it a 3 or 4. That's just me.
