Things that don't fit/deserve another topic (anything goes)

Post by ~xpr'd~ » Sat Jan 29, 2011 2:51 pm

I've been having random things I've been wanting to share but didn't want to make a whole new topic about since they don't fit anywhere. I bet everybody else has at least a few things like this too. So, I decided to do everyone a favor and make a topic so you have somewhere to put this all.

Nobody, indeed! So actually no repeating what someone else said, without saying anything new.

I think this may become a popular topic. BTW, nice horse XPR. It's good that you said it's a horse, otherwise I wouldn't have known. My family and I have also a forum for so called chit chatting, and that's actually the opposite of this forum. While on this forum are made several topics about the same thing, for example Mario, and also new topics are made for every little thing, especially by someone without a name, who hasn't been seen on this forum for a while, our family-forum isn't actually a forum like a forum should be, posting in the right topics, but everything is been said all in one topic. Which can also be annoying since not everyone finds everything interesting.

Ok, I think that's enough randomness for today; be back later. 8)

What happens when my brain talks to itself:
Me: "What do you get when you merge AoDD, Pokemon, and Food?"
Other part of my brain: "WILD CHICKEN APPEARED!"
Me: "That's cliche, and unrelated."
Other Part of my Brain: "-_- No."
Me: "Who said you were the smart one?!"

I've always wondered if you perhaps have a multiple personality disorder.

No, that's not it.
It's the fact that sometimes there's a silly part of my brain and the serious one.
They don't exist, though. Only my own personality.

moar stuff about being drunk! yay!

There's a weird point after you've been drinking for a wihle where things start to turn and get weird. After a few hours of drinking, you feel all great and giddy:

And then there's a turning point.

And pretty soon you start contemplating your mortality and the mortality of everything and there's a creeping feeling that you and everything you know and love is going to die.

I don't like moving.

If I was a dog my reaction on moving would probably be this.

Yeah, I know, I'm just really bored and didn't have anything better to do. The ending was interesting though.

Ok well I have something to share:

If anyone here reads Homestuck, then you will probably understand this, if you don't then you won't at all.

So, the coordinates of a Black Rook in chess are h8, how Vriska would say "hate". Then, if you look at the first 8 characters of "Black Rook" it looks like "Black Ro", which looks a lot like "Black Rom".

I didn't think it was worth making a whole topic for so I'll say it here. You can't make a post or a topic title or a poll question or poll option which only has the number 0 in. I think it has something got to do with the coding which makes it so you can't put nothing in any of those things. But the problem is, it also counts 0 itself.

00

Only one 0 doesn't work, but two works fine. Also one 1, or 1 r, and probably any letter or number, if it's only one, doesn't work.

Edited by tyteen: merged post (doesn't make much sense merging anyways :P

Yes, you must post at least 2 characters to prevent people from mass-spamming.

It is even possible to make a post with only the number 0, but then you have to add a space, and while posting, the space is going to be removed.

But what do you mean with "It only does it with numbers though."? With me it doesn't make any difference if I enter a number or a letter.

I tried that with our family-forum which uses the same version of PHPBB, and it seems you're right about that. I didn't try the poll options etc. though.

XPR, here's some addition to your drawing:

- overpressure valve 1: Do something which requires much physical energy
- overpressure valve 2: Reasonable talking, and relativizing thinking.
- overpressure valve 3: Acceptation of the knowledge that life sucks. (live with it) :)

Life is always sucky. That's a fact.
Life is always awesome. That's a fact.

It's only if you want to see the awesome side or the sucky side.

If you expect life to be awesome, you only can be disappointed if bad things happen. However, if you expect (and accept) that life sucks, you only can be pleasant surprised, when good things happen. 8)

No, just bad things happen. Good things come a few times a year. Bad things come every few minutes.
