NewER Super Mario Bros. Wii

Post by cloudrac3r » Sun May 29, 2016 8:01 am

Newer (as it will be called from now on) is an AMAZING fan-made version of New Super Mario Bros. Wii (which from now on will be called New).
It's actually really good. Really. Good enough to be the sequel. No jokes.

Start the download (around 600 MB) while you read: newerteam.com
Most of this information is available on the website in the above link.

What you need to play Newer:
- A retail copy of New
- A Wii or Wii U to play the game on
- An SD card with at least 1GB free space, formatted with FAT. (If it's not been reformatted, it'll be probably be FAT. If you reformatted it in Windows, there's a fair chance you might've used NTFS.)
- A computer running any operating system

Simple steps:
1. Mod your Wii to run homebrew apps. (It's free and easy, and won't brick your Wii provided you follow the directions.)
2. Download and copy the files to the SD card
3. Put the SD card in the Wii
4. Play the game!

Why Newer is better than New: (!)
- Classic Controller support - New doesn't, Newer does!
- More levels (I think) than New
- More creative level design than New
- An all new powerup that wasn't in New
- Proper bosses in Newer instead of like 500 Koopa Kids in New
- A map with split paths so if you're having trouble with a level you can try another one
- Good music
- Free to play so long as you own New
Why New is better than Newer:
- Newer does not have Free Mode or Coin Battle.
- New is easier to install. (Load the disc into the slot.)
- New takes less time to boot up
- Newer may have bugs (but I haven't found any yet).

And if you don't like Newer's default Classic Controller button layout and want something more like SMW than PM me.

Have fun!
