Moving keys, gems, coins and stars

Post by Pawelec » Fri Jul 17, 2015 8:59 am

I've been trying to get correctly working keys, gems, coins and stars which can float like UFOs, but apparently I cannot get them to properly push buttons - they leave a strange phantom object moving and pushing buttons after being collected. Has anyone dealt with it? I know Jutomi experimented with floating gems.

Hello, Pawelec. :)

Yes, I _have_ in fact experimented with moving gems and stars.

They're a little bit finicky...
I know that you'd basically make a UFO look like something else(with MNIK's PowerWopBeta) and then CMD 4 the "type" to the object they look like.

I remember, though, and I'm pretty sure I once tried that again in a POTZ adventure...
it didn't work, but when I copy/pasted from another adventure, with the same objects(I think),
it did work. So, here are two .wops you can use for stars/gems, located in the items folder in mine,
but be careful with them, and don't forget the values you'd find in PWB.
Also, again, they're finicky...
if these wops and a cmd 4 (id) 9 (item) don't work for you,
I can give you two of my adventures to copy/paste them into your own adventure. :o

And, albeit it might be easy to make them with Powerwopbeta...
it's still, like, really confusing to me how this works. :?

Thanks Jutomi, but they still suffer from the 'phantom glitch' and for me the most important were the keys, I did what was needed in PowerWOP and they still don't work.

The things I didn't try though:
- to create an object in another place then use Clone command,
- to use ZapBot logic instead of UFO.

I'll experiment a bit more and share the results.
