G. 15-40 days.

That's me. Sadly, my parents thought I wasn't learning enough so now I have school for the whole summer. Darn. I was Really counting on Summer Vacation(Didn't even get Spring break).
To Shorty, who was immortalized in an adventure.
To Marinus, who was my community older brother.
To Janet, who I will remember every time I wear a toque.

May these lost Wonderlanders find true adventure beyond us.

I've noticed summer school teachers are a lot nicer than regular teachers, though.

Nice, guys. Tomorrow's a big celebration for the end of school at my school.

There's games and all that stuff... I'm not even bringing my backpack because there's nothing to bring home or back.

F: School's been out for more than a week. I'm a senior, and seniors get out early.

So... longer vacation, but the catch is I'm going to have a job as a camp counselor for most of the summer starting in two weeks. Still, money from job = I get to buy stuff! PS3, here I come. =D

I have about 100 days of school left. It is about half way through the school year for me, whereas you all seem to be at the end.

South and north.

E. After 2 weeks of exam, few days of post exam activities, a day of ceremony and some holidays in the middle, my school will end on July 15.

6/12: Saturday - no school.
6/13: Sunday - school as usual.
6/14: Monday - school as usual.
6/15: Tuesday - school as usual.
6/16: Wednesday - school as usual.

6/17: Thursday - trip.
6/18: Friday - resting day (we return from the trip very late, so we don't go to school the next day).

E. 30, yes *30* weekdays until school ends for me. :(
And yet I still have to go back in early September, like most of the people in America, so I end up having a much shorter vacation.
It's depressing.

Then that must be bad news for me. I have my same teacher that I had in winter, spring, fall and the rest of the year. Good news, though. My Teacher is my mom.

Why does everyone want to be home schooled? It's THE WORST way to be educated. No offense or anything, I just want to know.

You can learn at your own pace. I was doing 5th grade math in 1st grade, and I was homeschooled until 3rd. I didn't learn history really well, but at least I got to choose what to learn about, for the most part.

No.

I can understand why people think that, but it's MUCH better than the official school system for several reasons.

1 - You can learn at your own pace, whether it's slower than normal classes or faster. It's unbelievable how idiotic the school districts here think we are, so homeschooling allows us to actually learn new things.

2 - No bullying whatsoever. The main reason I dropped out of Grade 8 was because pretty much everybody in my class hated me. Of course, this isn't an issue while homeschooling.

3 - Unlike public schools, which grade you based on how pretty your project is, homeschooling is different in the fact that you're graded based on your comprehension of the subject, which is much more fair.

4 - Since the classes are usually only one or two people, you'll be able to ask about anything you don't understand and get a response relatively soon. Public schools fail in that regard because teachers can't help everyone at once.

5 - It's nowhere near as harsh with deadlines and things like that. I remember at my old school if I was even a day late, I would automatically lose a mark for it, which is, to put it mildly, ridiculous.

6 - Provided you work hard enough, then you'll have more free time on your hands, which can be used for pretty much anything.

7 - What you're doing for a certain subject can be pretty much anything as long as it's relevant. Public schools are somewhat like that, but not enough so that you can work at your own pace without getting bored.

I could probably list more if I tried to

Apparently you didn't even read my post, so I'll put this to you as bluntly as I can:

Most people start homeschooling because of how alienated the public school system makes them, due to how little effort teachers actually put into solving the problem. If you even knew what it was like to go through that, then the obvious choice would be homeschooling. It doesn't sound like a fair trade-off if you haven't been through that at all, but if you had gone through what I have, I swear to you - you would leap at the opportunity to drop out.

Rest in peace, Kym. I hardly knew ya.
Rest in peace, Marinus. A bright star, you were ahead of me on my own tracks of thought. I miss you.
