How to i get rid of the white in a sprite?

In game maker when i upload sprites with white in it tehy always apepar with the white!
How do i make it transperent???

Use the eraser in the sprite editor and you'll come up with a checkered pattern where you erase. That's where it will be transparent.

Like jdl said, you should put all of these questions into the original topic instead of multiple questions about one program.

How I do it: Crop the image out, paste it on another blank image with transparent background.

I suck at explaining.

Yes, but no. You need to do what MyNameIsKooky said, AND click remove background.

You can also use the magic wand tool in the sprite editor. Click on the space you want to delete (while magic wand is selected), and hit delete.

If you are using GM8, change the white to a color that is nowhere in the sprite and use the erace a color function.If you are using GM7, check tranparent.
