Nope. I have run into a serious gameplay issue regarding the five additional chapters that were going to implemented into this game. ET5 is on hiatus for an indefinite amount of time.

Oh, hey, 2 questions about the Sky Domain for FT9:
1. How high does it go?
2. Is it magical or not?

1. I'd say there's about 1,000 blocks or so between normal ground level and the Sky Domain.
2. Nothing in the Evil Toaster series is "magical" (Except maybe the games themselves, hehe).

Anyways, the indefinite hiatus is apparently over. I've just started working on the game again. I'm currently working on setting up the five new chapters in the level select area.

I'm not sure whether I should include only Chapter 2 in Demo 2 or not.

Either way, the tentative release date for Demo 2 is December 2011.

Can I use the ET text engine?
If yes, please PM it to me. I deleted all of the decompiled ET games.

I actually got the text engine from this tutorial that someone posted. I don't remember where exactly I got it; I first downloaded it like 18 months ago. Here it is, if anyone wants it.

You'll have to make a few tweaks to the code if you want it to work properly in your game.

So I didn't need to spend all that time making my own engine? o_e

Ah, whatever. Even thought that wasn't realy aimed at me, thanks. :P

Considering whether or not I should add a main menu.

Yes. It's a little disorienting to open the game and a level instantly appearing.

I was thinking that there would be a cutscene-thingy as the menu background that changes as the player progresses through the game, kind of like the menu in Portal 2.

As for the menu buttons, I haven't come up with too many yet. There will be a "New Game" button that you can use to start a new game if you don't have a save file yet. Otherwise, it will be replaced with a "Continue Game" button that you can load your game with, like always.

Oh yeah, in somewhat related news, I'm going to see if I can add a pause button without breaking the game.

I would like to see a version of the save system with three save slots or something. Kind of annoying having to delete your save file if you want to start over.

I know how to do that even without acsess to the game maker file(however with that you'd need a diffrent menu before using the main menu)
If Kooky lets(and wants)I'll do it.

You could just move EvilToaster5_save and EvilToaster5_extdata to a different folder. If you do that, the executable won't find it and it will start a new game.

You knowing how isn't surprising. What would be surprising is finding something in game maker you can't do.
