can anyone give me spoilers to completing the rescue- i've tried and i just can't figure it out- i've gotten to far to let it hang at the last level?

Have you read the hints that Midnight Synergy gave?
General advice is that each character has to complete their own part before coming together at the end. I would do Peegue's bit first.
This is a truly difficult puzzle and took me weeks (trying on and off), though I know some quicker people did it in a couple of days.
Give it a while, some answers may emerge for you.
