Well, to be honest, I guess I kind of overreacted in that last post.

My main point still remains, though - I'd rather utilize the skills that I have, than neglect the skills I have and utilize only the ones I don't have. (paradox?)

I think anyhow you should practice and try to improve the skills that you (think you) don't have. Because, even if you get moderator permissions, and you move a topic, you lock a topic, you split a few posts out from a topic, and you're 100% convinced that you do the right thing, you will know that not everyone agree with. So you also should convince other people that you did the right thing.

Don't forget that having moderator permissions also means that you will have obligations. You still have to state your opinion, and, if needed, to explain it. And you can say those are skills you don't have, but I wonder if that's true. Of course not everyone has those skills in the same amount, but you always can learn to improve them. And I think they are necessary. Simply using your moderator permissions and saying nothing at all to clarify your actions is not the right thing in my opinion. I think the best way to moderate is doing it without even using the permissions to move or lock topics. And just in case of an emergency use those permissions.


However, about the time zone I have to agree with you. At least, if I would be a moderator, it probably would cause me many sleepless nights. And I think Israel is at least 1, maybe 2 hours later then Europe. On the other hand, your timezone will give you a very good excuse to be not as active as Qloof is. If you are afraid that your friends will lose faith in you when you're doing actually nothing as being a moderator, that's up to you. But you always can tell them: I'm just an emergency moderator.

No it doesn't. It doesn't explain anything about your actions in the slightest.

You're entitled to an opinion just like everyone else - what people don't like is how vehemently you react to people who disagree with you. That's not a different way of thinking, that's a short temper, but even that doesn't explain why you react with such venom.

Your different way of thinking means you have a different opinion, and that's fine, because we all do. No one is taking issue with your opinion here - only the behavior with which you react when someone disagrees with your opinion, which can't be explained away by thinking differently.

Anyways - Deeman, I was showing you examples of how much anger and hatred you respond to people with. Just because one topic is fine out of dozens doesn't redeem you. People are still bothering you about hating ^_^ because you won't give a proper apology to him.

You've said sorry only once, and that's after being pressured about it. All that people are asking you to do is to stop reacting so harshly. If you can't do something like that, then you can't expect people to value what you say. That's all there is to it.

Of course, that it was over 3:00 h I can't blame anyone but myself, but it's just always the same: The later in the night, the more fun on the forum.

What I meant to say is that what you (Qloof and Deeman) were talking about may be not really very off-topic, because you continued the discussion from the moment that it was still on-topic. However, what happens next in such situation: there come more people interfering with it. And then I'm not talking about Kooky, who had a good point in my opinion, by pointing out the same thing what Qloof still was saying.

But even after Deeman had said a few times "Sorry" people still continued with it, even BB, who has the words "Back on topic" written on his forehead, and Emerald, who was, if I'm not mistaken, the 3rd person replying on my post in the "Hey hey hey" topic. (If you've no idea, see the "Explanations" topic)

Well, I guess the discussion about Deeman's behavior can be closed for now, so let me say (as some other people use to say): Back on topic.
