30th Adventure: Cavern of Lies, Part 8
My signature has a link to my level list, where you can find links to all the other adventures in this series.
I think it's worth mentioning that the storyline in this series has no resemblance to my ordinary storyline. It other words, nice thwarts like Jade and Burntmeat don't exist.
As always, please review and have fun!

I do must have to say, you make really tricky levels, in my opinion.
I had trouble figuring out the first part until you added that spoiler.
Now... to figure out the second part.

The brr lake? You need to collect all 4 keys, and you'll need 7 brr charges to do it.Nobody wrote:I, um...
*looks around nervously*
...any help on the puzzle past the green gates?
Highlight the spoiler, if you need further help. Stop highlighting when you've got enough hints.
FULL SOLUTION wrote:1: Brr the waterholes 1 tile above you and 1 tile east of you. Slide north and south-east to the first key.
2: Use 1 brr charge to freeze the waterhole 1 tile north-east of you and slide to reach the 2nd key.
3: Using 3 brr charges, reach the teleporter to the north of you. You'll have to slide south-east and north.
4: Use 1 brr charge to get back to the main area.
I must have underestimated my own puzzles!Nobody wrote:COIN MAZE, WHY DO YOU HATE ME
I can get every coin but I can't reach the tollgate...
And that's all you need to do to reach the thwart village! Time for some storyline!COIN MAZE SOLUTION wrote:1: Walk north to the first intersection. Turn west.
2: Turn north at the first possible moment and then west again, collecting your first coin.
3: Walk north and take the THIRD turning on the right. You will collect your second coin. Then walk south, collecting your third and fourth coins.
4: Walk east, then south. You will collect your fifth coin.
5: Walk east, straight through your sixth coin, then south. The path will curve west, through your seventh coin, then south again.
6: Walk east, then north. Take the first turning on your left and collect your eighth and ninth coins.
7: Walk west, collecting your tenth coin, then north. Take the first turning on your right and follow the long, winding path through your eleventh coin.
8: Just before you reach the tollgate, turn south. It should now be easy to collect all the remaining coins.
Beginning
Not a terrible way to start transition from Part 7 to this plotline, so I'd say it was good. There were trees, too, which means it gets a 10/10 for trees. Although I won't be grading anything else.
Red Puzzle
Not a bad Scritter puzzle. I wish I hadn't overcomplicated things, or I probably could have solved it on my own.
Orange Puzzle
This was deceptively simple and actiony. I'm not exactly sure how intentional that was or what the point was, but eh.
Yellow Puzzle
This was a good ice/coin puzzle. I liked how it was almost completely symmetrical, that made the puzzle challenging.
Green Puzzle
AIOHFSKHLNAMHNF ICE RECOVERY GLITCH. Maybe I'm overreacting, and maybe it's just because I've played one too many adventures by Ice, but I'm sick of puzzles that utilize Brr-recovery instead of containing Brr puzzles that are actually designed the way MS intended.
Blue Puzzle
This was a pretty good ice area, I enjoyed it.
Indigo Puzzle
Like the orange puzzle, this was deceptively simple and actiony. I tried to solve it like a puzzle, but it turned out the only real challenge was a bit of action. Still, I enjoyed it, because it had turtles.
Purple Puzzle
Another bridge/coin maze. It... it was another one. That's what it was.
Ending
Really great scenery and dialog, but you forgot to make the dirt mounds non-walkable. BOOOOOOO! I'm already thinking of ideas to continue from this, but I should probably finish TMC4 first...

i should change my signature to be rude to people who hate pictures of valves
Oops, sorry. It's sometimes hard to keep track of where I use various puzzle designs, because I draw most of them in a pad of squared paper that hasn't been replaced for several years.Nobody wrote:DP.
Oh wait, the yellow puzzle is just a puzzle from part 2 that's been compacted and rotated. Whatever.
