New Adventure: Button Changer Mechanism Example

Post by jdl » Sat Jul 11, 2015 8:50 pm

Someone needed help with a mechanism so I decided to help them make one. What this does is it changes a button's subtype so it acts like a different kind of button. In this adventure, the yellow diamond button can act like a diamond, timer, or circle button. You can switch between subtypes by pressing the rotator button.

This can be used for different kinds of things so I decided to post this in case someone needs some kind of mechanism similar to this in the future. :)

This mechanism uses:
Flipglitch, a button with an ID adjuster, Suction Tubes, Rotator Buttons, Teleporters, a high-speed Chomper, command 4, a Zip-Bot, commands 1 and 2, and water.
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Thank you so very much, jdl!

Just what I was needing. :)
Your only little stinker that's absolutely NOT a z-bot by this name,

Also, if you want to see my level list, here it is! :D

Oh, and my YT wonderland channel. Forgot about that.

-For starters, the button to be changed has an ID adjuster added to it using powerwop. This button gets its subtype changed using GC buttons with command 4.
-I used a zipbot to constantly activate and deactivate the suctiontubes so that the chomper is able to interact with the GC buttons.
-The water helps keep the chomper in place.
-There's some objects placed on top of another object (the chomper and a GC button and the teleporter on the rotator, for example) using the flipglitch.
-The teleporters are for resetting the mechanism back to the start, and the rotator button that's on the same tile as the teleporter is to reset the suctiontubes back to the proper direction.

Other than that, it's pretty self-explanatory. :)

The Unofficial WA Editor Guide wrote:There is also a glitch in the Editor known as the "Flipglitch". This glitch allows you to place more than one object on a tile at a time. To do the flipglitch, place one of the objects you want on the tile you want it on, and press "Flip X" (Flip Y also works!). The level should looked flipped around. Find the tile that you want the second object on, and place the second object on the tile. You should now have two objects on the same tile! Press "Flip X" again to return the level to its original state. Note: the flipglitch does not work with "Flip XY".

Sorry... I hadn't read at that time yet, thanks for the solution!

Definitely useful for making 'weird' buttons!
Not really around much these years.
