You May Not Agree, but I Swear.....

Post by Gold Raven »

that the more times I play a level, it changes. Now I stated the same thing way back two games ago in Secret World and absolutely in Wonderland Adventures.......what I mean is that either it will get harder....for a while, or all of a sudden it just happens to work!

Could Patrick have programmed this into the game :?: Of course he could...he is a genius.....

I swear that it is true

I don't think the level changes, I think YOU change.

I've noticed how sometimes I have a memory of something, like a movie, or a level, even music, but then when I play it, it's different. It seems that memory can be easily confused by two things mixing together.

Also, if you play a level over and over and over again, suddenly, something might 'click', and there, you have it! :D

Might this be a possible reason?

While I don't disagree with you on your theory, I still believe that there is Magic Programmed into these games...

Erwin....I think!..........tried to explain that concept of yours a couple of years ago...but I still think that after a number of "trys" at a different level, the level itself changes....I do think so....yes I do :P

Well, no magic is programmed into the game obviously, but maybe in your dreams your memory becomes confused with other Dreamland versions of the level. The mind is very powerful. 8)

You could say that in life things do just change, without much of a logical reason. Would you like me to continue?

BTW, programming is very hard. I think it would be enough for Patrick just creating the game itself.

It would be cool if there were 3 (more or less) versions of every level. It goes from the hardest, to medium, to easy. You can set it to: Go to 'X' (Medium or easy. If there is more then that, use numbers!) after 'X' restarts. :D

I thought something like that was already suggested in the thread about MOFI's difficulty. Midnight Synergy mentioned that doing this for every adventure would significantly complicate puzzle development and testing. Doesn't really sound like a good tradeoff to me when the tradeoff means waiting 3 times as long for the next game and 3 times less puzzles.

It's pretty easy though to adjust the speed setting of the game. If everything's slow down by the same amount the solutions to an adventure are not affected, but it does make the level more forgiving for people with slow fingers/reflexes.

Another possibility is to build some sort of hint system into the adventures, which the user can turn on and off any time. So after X restarts the game would offer a hint (they are set by whoever created the adventure) based on how far you've gone in the adventure.

You can't, at least not for existing WA games. I'm just talking about alternatives to what jdl suggested about having multiple versions of an adventure with different difficulties.
