418LIZM - Cleeve Cloud
Hi All
Next in the Cotswolds series. Cleeve Cloud is not a village but is the highest point in the Cotswold Hills. Using the Cotswold texture again.

Liz,
I usually just hate the red guys but this one and I worked well as a team. Then the kaboom gave me fits for a while but after that it was clear sailing. Great fun. Thanks
Michelle

Here are some hints for the first part of this level:
The 2 steel boxes go in the lowest waterhole by the red dude.
The 2 wooden boxes go in the water where they are.
The red dude must shoot the barrels to clear the way to the red button - this needs timing.
Then the red dude must push the sphere down and left. Qookie pushes the top sphere up once she's removed the coins. This puts the lower sphere onto the red button. Then she pushes the top sphere right onto the yellow button.
Finally make the red dude walk into the lower barrel.
A full walkthrough will follow in a few days if anyone wants it!

No wonder I was having such a hard time, Duhhh!
Here's what I did,
I put the red guy on the red button and trapped him there with a steel box. It wasn't easy!

Well done, Bob - I thought of that approach, but finally decided that the other one with the linked spheres is easier.
I didn't think that someone will actually complete it this way: did you manage to do it all within the given time-frame?

Bob -
You certainly found a loophole, but I think my way was easier!

I tried it your way Liz...much easier!
It's funny how you just miss stuff that's staring you right in the face. Oh well. it's happened before.
BTW Amnon, I never, ever play with the timer on. I have enough deadlines in my life.

I wouldn't consider a level "done" if the timer was not on.
Sometimes when a level is particularly long and difficult I may practice it without the timer, but once I know what to do, I always bring it back.
In this case it helped, because I figured out that even if it was possible to bring the bad-red-dude to that button, it would simply take too long. I am just curious whether I estimated correctly, Bob, or whether it is actually doable within a reasonable time-frame.

What a stinkeroonie Lizzie

I did all the beginning your way (thanks to your hints) but I made the dude blow himself up by doing that backwards/forwards thingy

I have made a side level just to work through the boomer part - but I just cannot do it

He keeps going into the green gate and killing himself - help with that part please

Sorry for the delay in posting this walkthrough. I've had a busy weekend!
It's rather a long walkthrough - I hadn't realised how complicated it is trying to explain shadow movements!
WALKTHROUGH
1. Push sphere and steel box up over tramp. Jump right and walk up to push the wooden box into the water. Jump left and push the steel box right over tramp. Top box into water and push steel box all the way down and into the bottom waterhole. You are now at the position shown. Follow the yellow path to #1 and back again to #2. The red shadow will now be at the red X, and the barrel above the steel box is shot. Push the steel box into the bottom waterhole to complete the bridge and return to the sign.
2. Step up to make the red dude shoot. Wait until the fireball has almost reached you and step down, wait again and step up. Then step down and quickly round the left corner, tramping up and through the red TP to #1 again.
3. The red dude is still at the red X. Your aim is to make him push the red sphere down and left. So from the #1 spot walk all the way left, then 2 right, 2 down, 1 left, 1 up (both spheres are now down). Step 1 up, 1 left, 1 up, 1 right.
The spheres are now pushed left. Go up and take the 2 coins from above the top sphere (leaving the one on the break tile), then slide round the ice to push the top sphere up. The lower sphere is now on the red button. Go back up through the right side red TP, landing on the break tile to push the top sphere left onto the yellow button.
4. Now to get rid of the red dude. At this point he should be back at the spot shown in the picture. From the wooden boxes, walk all the way down then back up until he is at the bottom. Then walk right and up when he is in line with the barrel and blows up.
5. Go through the yellow TP by sliding round the ice, and push the left box up and right into TP. Push it down and left into the water. Now go up through the TP and manoeuvre the other box the same way and push it into the water by the kaboom.
6. Kaboom section. First collect the 2 coins in the green timer area and go back to the sign. As soon as the kaboom passes the box, push it right, then push the left box onto the sign. Quickly step left through the green TP and push the box up and left to trap the kaboom in the green timer area. To get the bonus, stand below the coin/TP. When the kaboom goes left into the passageway, go up through the TP and on round the break tiles.
7. Onto the next section. Push the box right, and go through white TP. Ride the transporter left and push the box back through the TP to land on the white button.
8. Peegue is now free to move. He pushes the box right, which traps the z-bot on the cyan timer. Collects the coin and goes left into the black TP. Now he rides the transporter down, jumps down and pushes the boulder up to take the transporter back for Qookie and blow the barrels. He can now exit via the cyan TP. Qookie collects the last bonus coin and exits.

I did wonder why that extra barrel at the bottom (I actually thought it was for the kaboom, in case there was a way to get him past the boxes): to kill a red dude is so much easier:
Just stand in line with him behind a wall (you want him to shoot you, but not to kill you) - and here there is a pefect wall for that in the 3rd row from the bottom, then walk quickly left and right until he shoots himself.

Thanks Amnon! Yes, I've used that trick in Coin Quest a couple of times, but for some reason didn't think to use it here!

Wow I got stuck doing the first part wrong and just couldn't get my mind going in any other direction. This was GREAT Lizzie. You do such a good job with the shadow dudes and the boomers and all that...just amazing.
Thanks so much for the level and the walk through!
Hope you had a fun weekend with the girlies

The beginning was a real thinker ya stinker. That was the only part I peeked at. I'm not very good at getting red dudes to do what their supposed to do. I knew the other barrel was for him and not the boomer once I seen the green timer up yonder. Once i got past that first part the rest was fairly easy. thanks for a great level liz....
