New Level (Adv) - Stinky Bedroom

Post by LEMARQUIS » Thu May 01, 2008 12:45 am

Hey guys, here's what happened...

Loof has created a mess in Stinky's bedroom and is being punished for it! He gave alcohol to one of the wooden box who got very DRUNK! Now it's a very STINKY bedroom! He's now held behind bars! He needs your help to get him out! He only wants to hug his pink teady bear right now!!! Can you help him?

Well... This sounds very STINKY! LoL

Make sure you dowload all the pieces to get the full effect! The maximum size for download is 800kb so I had to split the Models in 3 parts (A,B and C). Make sure all 4 models are in the MarquisM7 folder. I also modified and combined the models to have more objects on the level which explains it larger size. Enjoy...

hint: Make sure you see the drunken box at the start!

I just added Version A (Very stinky Bedroom) for the very advanced users which you can get in my post down below...

Enjoy!

It is a level to remember for all Coily-Lovers.
For the rest and for the faint of heart - either stay away, or simply enter the level-editor and take away a coily or two: there is a lot to this great level even without the arcade part.

Hey guys,

Just made a small level update... took out one coily as general request and modified few things to balance it.

Please redownload the level

Finally freed Loof and put Stinky's room back in order.
This was one humdinger of a ride, my friend!
Thank you for the preview, but last night it had me stumped.
Finally saw the light and was able to make sense of all those impossible buttons.
This is one puzzler Muzo will love!

Phew, finally made it the revised way.
Even one coily is one too much in the given situation, but oh well, both are safe (except they still see coilies in their nightmares).

Stinky Bedroom and Very Stinky Bedroom...

Post by LEMARQUIS » Tue Jun 10, 2008 3:09 pm

I had a texture problem where some of the model textures were not showing up on some computers/Laptop... (one the jacks in the box actually)

please redownload MarquisM07A Revised

That will solve the problem...

I had some time today so I thought I would take a run at this. I figured it would be loaded with glitches so I just pushed stuff where I normally wouldn't.

Worked like a charm, got the gold and sent the boys home.

Thanks again,

Congrats Bob :) I assume you tried the "very stinky bedroom" version.
I don't think anyone completed it before you.

I haven't yet had the necessary time to complete the "very very stinky" version, but no clues please...

Well, I have finally made the very very hard version WITHOUT the coily (removed by the level editor): there is no principle reason why this level cannot be completed with that coily on board, but it would be mere and useless torture - there are enough intelligent moves to make here without constantly worrying about that critture going between one's feet.

Very Stinky bedroom

Post by LEMARQUIS » Tue Jun 17, 2008 1:21 pm

True! the coily is not really needed. I put it there at first to represent one of the bed springs bouncing on the bed. It became a very frustrating element!!! I do like the coily on the bed but would have prefered to find a way to use him somehow instead of a random frustrating obstacle. Maybe lock him on a button? or give a way to kill it without disturbing my other logic?

For example, Stinky was using the box to temporary lock loof away top right of the door to protect him from being killed by the coily. I was trying to get the player to find that!

I'm open to see a revision :) Any ideas

Any ideas about the coily?

what about spikes?

An 2-tile extrusion can come out of from the bedroom: the first tile being an ice-cube, the next is spikes. If you push the ice cube on the spikes, Mr. Coily will also have access to the spikes and will eventually fall there.

Ok Amnon,

I actually added a spike under the coin top corner.

Simpler...

Yes, that's the version I played.

It never occurred to me that the coiley was representing a bed spring, very clever. :D

I'll have to go back and see how the spike looks.
