Using mette's very cool 'metal2' texture, thanks!

Whew! This one was a doozy. I finally got those spheres doing what they were suppose to be doing. Thanks for another great level, Bob!

Question:
What was that second metal box for?

If you're referring to the box inside the right hand blue sphere, it goes onto the conveyor to act as a stopper later for a red sphere. The red spheres are moved over to activate the yellow timer and the yellow spheres re-activate the red timer.

Hmmmm...
I used one of the red spheres to act as the stopper for the other red sphere to activate the yellow timer toward the end of the level. I didn't use that second metal box at all.
Isn't it interesting how we all find different ways to solve puzzles!

How? When you push the next one left, the other rolls left and out of the way.

Well, duh.
I pushed it up on the conveyor just as something to do. I thought you meant as a stopper going up and down! Sheesh. I never looked up to see that the box was being used. Sorry for the confusion, Bob.

:D :D :D Great puzzles, all of them. To figure out the blue sphere/white TP/barrels took me quite a while. And again I only found one way, and I'm pretty sure it's the intended way. Thanks for the fun! :D :D :D

Phew, this was hard!

Took me two days to crack.

I did it in the intended way, but just to check this discussion about the metal box, I was able to complete the level without using it as a stopper - I got rid of it by pushing it all the way to the left and still came out with gold.

Stuck!

Post by margmarg » Tue Nov 25, 2008 5:35 pm

I can do the boulder bit then I push the red spheres and jump to the top left bit i push the top blue upand the right blue right. Then!!!! I can get round to sort the barrels out before timer runs out OR push the metal box and one barrel. I can't push blue and metal box and still have time to sort out the barrels. I am too slow or am I barking up the wrong tree??

Help please.

This is what I did margmarg:
push the left blue sphere down and steelbox right in water

then get bonuscoin below right steelbox/blue sphere

push left blue sphere again down so it keeps running over blue timer/blue TP's and the other blue sphere also goes down (timer will not run out of time)

Steelbox right on conveyor, and blue sphere down on white TP

That's it Marinus, thanks!

I'm sorry people are having a problem with that metal box  I could not find a way to make the metal box move more obvious or easier...maybe it was too obvious.

As you can see by Marinus' post your solution is not the intended way, it seems like a lot more work, and since the conveyor doesn't stop how could you push the metal box left and how did you keep the yellow timer going? :? We are talking about the metal box inside the blue sphere right?

This is as far I as I get. The very first time I did this the red gate was still open but the last six times it's been closed.

A red sphere should be rolling back and forth over the ice slide/conveyor. The bottom one acts as a blocker, you don't move the bottom one left until later. :D

It was not obvious at all - for ages I was destroying that metal box with a barrel so I can pass up to get into the yellow-timer line.
how could you push the metal box left and how did you keep the yellow timer going? Confused We are talking about the metal box inside the blue sphere right?
I push the second red sphere left while the first is still rolling, so it does not join it leftward.

Well now that you told me that Bob I think I know what I did wrong. I just moved to fast when I pushed the sphere left. I do that sometimes, get in to much of a hurry. I'm going back in. Thanks for helping me to really think about it.

I think that's quite interesting! :D Apparantly you pushed the leftmost sphere down instead of up. To do that, you had to push the steelbox out of your way at two seperate times, the first time right on the conveyor, and the second time to the left. So, although the box is actually not used, it definately has a function! And although it's not the intended way, it makes the level more worth, because it provides interesting stuff to think/talk about! :D

Got it, thanks so much for the help Marinus. The first time I sent the yellow over they smashed so I thought I was doing something else wrong, which I was, I had to time it just right so they would miss the red. Pretty neat challenge Bob.

Thanks for the fun.

:D :D :D All this time and all I had to do was collect one little bonus coin. DOH!
I just couldn't see that for nothing.
Brilliant work Bob, I loved the way you used the spheres on the timers. :D :D :D

Despite some of the confusion I'm glad you all managed to get through this, one way or another. I was going to post a walk-through but I think we've all covered the elements pretty well already!

It just goes to show you what Kiki and I were talking about the other day, you just never know as a level-maker how difficult a level might be.

Thanks again for playing and commenting everyone!
