New Level -- Deja-Vu II

Post by Muzozavr » Thu Mar 25, 2010 5:30 pm

I have been mostly inactive in the level designing department, because I was 1) out of ideas and 2) I'm in a huge "level-fixing" project for a different game.

However, the activity in project mentioned in 2) is somewhat low right now, so I'm not as "required" right now. And like an hour ago, I had an idea and rushed to make this.

Yes, it's another one of those "will MS allow it or not?" remakes of an officail Wonderland level, because I still have trouble thinking up a full level of my own. :?

Revisit "Look Before You Leap" from the Platinum set, altered just a tiny bit so that none of the original solutions will work. :P

Only seven tiles have been changed (other than the text in the signs) but the level is much, much harder than original.

I assure you it's solvable. It can look impossible at certain points (a lot of points, actually) but there IS a way. Keep on trying!

The solution of this level will point out a massive oversight in the original level that leads to a shortcut.

And I've been fair in this remake -- there are no fake walls, just like in the original.

If you are stuck, feel free to ask for a hint, but for a week, all hints will be sent per PMs. Only after that week will I make some public hints and spoilers.

Enjoy this insane version of a trampoline-fest!

Trampolines make me lose levels...

I can't seem to control the Stinker in the air. It is either landing in the sky, on an object, or a wall. All of those unfortunate events kill me. :?

I can't seem to control the Stinker in the air.
I have seen a few people talking about that and I could never understand the reasons behind their problems.

I'll try it once again:

1) You literally steer in the air, BEFORE you hit the next trampoline.
2) Steering doesn't mean just tapping the button once, you have to HOLD it pressed until the Stinker hits the next trampoline.

Wonderland has never been that much of an action game.

But I will give it a try!

Wonderland has been like that from the very start. Open up the first Wonderland game, World 7 Level 2 "Z-bot City!" and TRY to get the bonus coins. I dare you.

Trampolining is actually very easy as long as you plan out a long sequence BEFORE you start it.

Glad to hear you're back in Wonderland level designing! I'm going to come back in too soon.

Going to go play this now. I like hard levels.

I have been travelling when you released this level. Now I picked it up and it took me about 2 hours to solve, which means that it is quite a hard one, but not the worst.

Thanks!

You have to admit... it's a lot harder than the original.

I think I could do a "harder version" for the entire Platinum set... of course, I have to resolve level 19, but it shouldn't be too bad.

I still keep landing on walls. Guess trampolines aren't my thing. I'm going to check out some more of your levels.

That took up a good part of my day. :D

My big problem was the blue button, once I sorted out the route for that I was able to see my way to the exit.

Very challenging, thanks!

Ugh... I had more enthusiasm than ability. I'm doing it, but it's a lot harder than I expected...

The blue button is a mean improvement, indeed. I'm very proud of finding that spot.

This level is an all time favourite of mine, it took me an age to solve.
Thanks for the memories. :)
