When I try to color something in Wings3D it ends up completely white in the game.

Can't help you, sorry. I know nothing about how Wings3D works. If you want to post your model I'll take a look at it and see if I can colour it for you.

Why don't you just use the simple "add a jpg texture to the folder" way, I downloaded the thing, put a red JPG on it, and it worked

But the stupid texture engine doesn't even let me choose an image. It just invents them by itself.
