Post by ddb » Thu May 25, 2006 3:31 pm

please let me know if i'm doing this correctly: i download a level, then i download and open the texture, open, winzip, winzip wizard, click on next, unzip texture, click on extracted to folder RTWd; but i can't seem to be able to use the texture in the game; what am i doing wrong, please help me and thanks. this has been a problem for me because i'm unable to play the advanced level because of the texture that isn't unzipped or whatever. thank you for any help that you can give me.

Are you unzipping into the texture folder? When a level maker posts with texture/background/etc, you need to make sure you put it in the correct folder in the RTW folder.

Also, sometimes when all the unzipping is undone, there are double folders. You need to get rid of the extra folder. That can cause the level to not load as well. I usually take the folder from the zipped folder, after I've unzipped it, then put it on my desktop, delete the zipped folder and the empty folder with the same name from the texture folder and put the full texture in the folder.
If you want to be somebody, if you want to go somewhere, you have to wake up and pay attention.

Hi ddb,

On my web site I have a "Step by step guide" to downloading and unzipping custom stuff. You can see the address in the .jpg in this post: http://pcpuzzle.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=34752#34752.

On the web site: scroll down to the links section and you should see it.

Good luck :D

Or try this.

You can go to the Mightnight Synergy home page and download the Platinum upgrade if you don't have it. (You must have Platinum to use CustomTextures.)

There is also a patch there that allows you play levels made with CustomTextures reverting to the default texture. (So even if you don't have the texture you can still play the level.)
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.
