I watched the movie, which has 3 parts as you said, so that's probably the first option.

However, if I remember right, they went to the past first (around 1960) then to the future (about half 21st century?), and then further back to the past. (19th century) And in the future part they used hoverboards.

But I don't quite understand the 2 options. Did they make another movie?

Anyhow, I liked those three parts.

BTW, my sister has those 3 movies on DVD. I think I ask her if I can borrow them again. I think I liked the first movie the most.
