I think the idea of topics on a forum is, that if someone has really something new to say, that he/she searches if there's an existing topic for it, and if not, that he/she makes a new topic for it.
However it seems to me that you just act in the opposite direction; while you actually have nothing to say, you just feel some need to make at least 2 or 3 new topics in a week, so you go desperately try to think of a subject/topictitle to make a new topic about, and while you have nothing to mention yourself, you expect someone else will do.
I think if people feel need to talk about a nickname, they also can do that in, for example, the topic: What's your name.
