I always get a bad resolution when recording my Game Maker games using Fraps...
I did a search and found that Deeman said this:
DEEMAN223344 wrote:Fraps can only record good resolution with game maker games if the view is enough to fill the screen without stretching (4 times the default room size IIRC)
What does he mean by this?

If the view fills the screen fills up (like full screen, but in windowed mode(for example the beta of AoDD's final boss)).
The room size in that example is 2000X1009.

So basically, you need a really huge view that would equate to a full screen?

well that wont work
the level space should be the size, as the veiws zoom.

So you want the room size to be the size of the view...?

forget about veiws entirely for this.
put it back to normal and change the room size.
also it helps if the room uses that new space (make the sprites larger and fix level)

yeah i just tested it and it failed
you can also try cropping the video so that the unused space isnt there.
Youtube seems to automatically change the resolution of the videos
