DURR youtube

Post by Technos72 » Thu Jun 30, 2011 11:44 pm

I don't really like several things about Youtube. Especially the time-wasting adverts that recently came back. They force us to see them before watching a video. Everyone hates them and don't care about them. What if I was in a hurry for something really important?

Another thing that bugs me ALOT MORE than the advert crap is HOW STUPID Youtube's copyright system works. Last year I was uploading parts of a reversed whole movie of Monster House. A few weeks later I get this bad note from youtube saying Part 3 of that full movie reversed was copyright. Monster House was made by Columbia, but it said it was flagged by WARNER BROS OF JAPAN. I mean why would they flag something that they didn't make and was reversed?

And youtube was made by Viacom that also has control of paramount, nickelodeon, and neopets. And many people hate Viacom because of the crap above. Apparently Youtuber Mike Mozart of JeepersMedia does alot of "fail toy" video reviews and did a few videos of the stupidity of toys from titles in Viacom companies. I don't really want to put a link here as there are some inappropriate bits in these videos.

Anyone else got something else to share about Youtube that spawns ragefaces?

How sometimes it can't play a part of a video it allready loaded. That's just plain annoying.

about viacom, I was wrong. Youtube wasn't owned by Viacom, even worse, IT STOLE FROM YOUTUBE. It just steals random videos by people all over Youtube and puts them in their websites with renamed titles.

I want to see if it stole any of my videos but I can't seem to find them because of their renamed titles

Yes. They need videos for their video websites but can't really get them from signed-up users so they're all herp derp lets steal good videos from youtube and use them for our websites without permission. :x

I.
HATE.
VEVO.

Not only did they remove all pre-uploaded music videos, they then re-uploaded them with TWICE AS MUCH advertising as any other video, took over almost all music artist youtube accounts, and singlehandedly added the music copyrights which prevent ANY copyrighted music from playing on mobile devices, specifically iPhones.

I also hate how the layout is. The layout itself is fine, but they change it every few days now. It's really annoying when they reorganize everything, confuse every youtube user, break lots of features or make them hard to find, and call it "ergonomic."

When that happens just skip 1 second of the video. That works for me.
To Shorty, who was immortalized in an adventure.
To Marinus, who was my community older brother.
To Janet, who I will remember every time I wear a toque.

May these lost Wonderlanders find true adventure beyond us.

That's what I do too. But it's annoying to have to and sometimes you lose something important/funny because of it.

Simply said, Viacom owns everything, including you, your dog, your computer, the Sun, the Rovers on Mars, and that garbage bin just off of main street.

As for copyright problems, almost anyone can flag your video for copyright infringement by feeding YouTube false information. Heck, someone even did that with one of my Evil Toaster 3 walkthroughs that I recorded.

If it's something that actually doesn't belong to you, even if you modified it in some way, stick a disclaimer onto the beginning of the video or the video description. Eg: "I don't own Monster House in any shape, way, or form. All content belongs to it's respective owners." Or some cliche disclaimer thingy like that.

Off topic:Oh hey, I just reached 3000 posts! :P

On topic:You MADE Evil Toaster 3, for gods sake! Even if the walkthroughs weren't yours, the GAME ITSELF is yours. The way I see it, that sould give you at least a bit of rights over whatever walkthrough on ET is out there anyway. That or I'm clueless. Probaly clueless.

But imagine how satisfying it would be to have this is a ET walkthrough discription:
I made this walkthrough. And the game itself. I own evrey single right to Evil Toaster, it's charecters, it's elemens, it's plot, and it's levels, etc. . If you wanna go flag this video for copyright infringement then you must be pretty darn stupid.

...

Did Evil Toaster even have copyright laws to break in the first place?

Which makes my point that YouTube's copyright flagging system is too easy to manipulate.

That will just encourage people to flag it. :P

True. But, from what I know, all the music is original exepet for the music in Leaf's Spring/Good night/Flodded Tunnel is original.
