Trouble With Private Messages

I'm new-ish here, so sorry if I'm missing something obvious. But I think I'm having a problem sending PMs. I've sent two so far, and one shows up under "Sent Messages", so I hope all's okay there. But the other still appears in "Outbox" even though it's been enough time since I sent it. I'm guessing there's some error or problem with the message. Has anyone else experienced this, or does anyone know what might be going on?

Messages stay in the Outbox until the recipient has read the message. Once read, they go into Sent Messages.

It gives you a chance to edit the message if you decide that you don't like what you wrote.
