When I was solving the puzzle myself, this is what I started with:

This is the "obvious" 8x8 solution I was talking about with an extra black queen. It was literally the first thing that jumped to my mind.

Unfortunately, this is COMPLETELY unrelated to the real solution.

So...
Is any body going to figure out Muzozavr's puzzle? :?
Jutomi, who is deffinately a stinker, wrote:The colours in this sequence are:
Red, Black, Black, White, and Purple.

What would be the next colour in this sequence?

I'll give you a hint; It has to do with hands.
Here's the answer, if you're interested. :D
Jutomi, which is deffinately NOT a Z-bot, wrote:The colour is indigo.
It's so hard not to colour that...

Here's the reason, as well. :D
Jutomi, who is more than certainly not lying, wrote:The colours are based off of the Wonderland glove editor;
Starting from 0(red), you go down to negative numbers(Black)
Since those are infinite, lets say you loop back to positive infinity(All so black, but supposedly act differently).
Then you go to white(7), purple(6), and eventually, 5(The Answer).
I think it might be a bit unfair, but that's what I think of several of my Wonderland puzzles.

Good luck with figuring Muzozavr's puzzle out; I can't.

It's not my puzzle, it's Frangen's. It's perfectly solvable but completely weird. There is no "trickery" (it's not based on puns or anything silly like that) but the solution (the one that I know of, at least) is quite unusual.

Thinking along unusual lines...
I noticed these strange glyphs on the walls of some ancient ruins.

I wonder what they could mean...
and what they would, as a whole, equal.

By this do you simply mean unconventional, or something else (like a special method)?

It's unconventional. No "special methods", no trickery.

Thinking about Jutomi's puzzle... :? It reminds me of a different puzzle, where it was "1, 2, 3, 4, 5" and so on, but the numbers were "doubled" visually, making it less obvious. Unfortunately, I can't figure out how to apply this idea here but I can't solve the puzzle without it, either.

Oh! Interesting news!
I managed to find an other glyph off from the walls!
Although... there's a slight... "problem", is it, with this one?

The problem is this; It's a binary glyph.
Now, what could this possibly mean?

I suppose I'll have to report to Dr. Snack for advice. Until then, here's the snapshot I took.

Perhaps we could figure it out, then.

It looks like none of us are getting far with either this or Frangen's bizarre play.

Although Dr. C. N.(Snack) has not reported back to me with his knowledge of this information(possibility that he does not recognize this), I think I recognize these figurines from some places that Dr. Snack has been researching in.

Recently, he's been tracing the events of some heroes trying to recapture something, presumably not long after the disappearance of yet an other great hero, being studied by none other than Pr. M. Alen.

I've noticed, in a recent discovery from after researching these hieroglyphs, that not only were they found some place near each of these fortold areas of the time travelers, but that they almost resembled the rooms that they were engraved in.

I am pretty sure that the rooms are all so aligned very much like in the recent research that the whole community has been receiving from the doctor.

I'd share my discovery, but I'd just like to make sure that I'm not the only person who thinks that this is the case.

Now, what do you think these hieroglyphs could mean? :D

Oh, you sneaky hieroglyph-discovering adventurer... you've found the third solution to Frangen's puzzle -- one that I couldn't find myself. Frangen wasn't even aware of its existence. I found the puzzle with the mention of three unique solutions, so I was aware of its existence, but I just couldn't find it.

Alright, here's mine. My diagram reverses the white/black colors, but the site refuses to load for me right now (even though the image works fine), so I'll let it slide:

Image

Invert the queen colors here, and you'll get one possible soluion.

Without inverting the queen colors, take away the black queen on a5 and place a white queen on d2 and you'll get the second solution. These are the ones Frangen knew of.

Hrm. I'm not quite sure I understand how to interpret that hint. Are you saying that the glyphs are similar to the rooms they were found in, which in turn are aligned in a special way?

I have an other puzzle for you, if you're interested.

It's an incredibly easy one that I came up with between cookie clicker, having cookies, and doing mathematics.

If you have one cookie per day, for two days, then how many cookies will you end up with by the end of the sixteenth day?

All so, I am slowly uncovering new grounds with the still-sealed rooms.

Evidentally, there are still a few more glyphs, some in front and some behind.

The behind ones, though, are so ancient, and so covered in stone, that I am affraid to touch them. I can guess, though, that there are about five rooms left behind, and still a few rooms ahead, too.

Here's the most recent glyph that I've just barely been able to retrieve.

If you have one cookie per day, for two days...
What do you mean by this. Do you mean that I receive a cookie every 2 days?
Also, congrats for solving that chess puzzle! Thanks Muz for that tremendously hard puzzle.
I have another chess puzzle, but I think people like Muzozavr and Jutomi and other chess experts would dismember it so fast that I won't be able to blink.

Place four queens on a 7x7 chessboard so that the sight range of the queens combined covers the entire board.

Have fun! :)

If you mean "all squares are attacked", there's actually no way to do this. I have already posted a similar puzzle a long time before, but with five queens. It's been proven that you need at least 5 queens to attack all squares on an 8x8 board.

(On a 7x7 board, however, you can use only 4)

Did you get your puzzle from the Internet or did you "find" a solution and then posted the puzzle? In the second case, I think you should check your "solution" again. There are either five queens or non-attacked squares. (Or extra pieces, if this is actually a "trick" puzzle)

Well, mine was 5 queens and an 8x8 chessboard, surely we can try 4 queens and a 7x7 chessboard... And I posted mine a looooooooong time ago, I'm not even sure if it was in "this" tricky puzzles topic or on the previous one.

,_,

All right...

I meant, the first "have" is "eat" and the second "have" is "left over, and availiable to eat - unless they've rotted, or gotten soggy, or something".

Honestly, though, you guys are all doing good via finding loopholes in this thing!

Oh, all so, is this the answer you were looking for?
It took me some time, but not nearly as long as Frangen's.

I think it is...

The "5 queens on 8x8 board" is harder, though, because it's not very symmetrical. Back then I didn't even manage to solve it myself and had to look for an answer. If I were to erase my memories of the answer somehow and re-solve the puzzle again, I think I could do it now.

All right, I am going to give the answer to my cookie puzzle for two reasons.

1: I have an other puzzle that's a bit trickier.
2: It's a joke puzzle that I put out that apparently had bad translation on my part.

The answer, by the way, is ≤0.

The somewhat trickier puzzle I had at mind was along the lines of this:

You have two queens, that will do whatever it takes to kill each other.

That means that they will move every thing necessary in order to have a queen of one colour eliminate the other.

All queens on the board will do so.
The pieces on the board must consist of one black queen, one white queen, and four chess pieces; each one must be different, whether it's a different colour or different piece.

The rules of chess all apply here; If a pawn is at the end of the board, it turns into an other piece of the colour's choosing, white can attack black, black can attack white, and so forth.

How can you place these objects in such a way as to let both sides take their turns, which colour belongs to which side, and so forth, to make it so that neither queen can attack each other, no matter how hard they try, within the next three moves?

That means that other pieces won't attack other queens unless they're queens; they want to help the queens attack each other.

It's probably an overly complicated explanation for what the answer is, but I figured you'd like to try and solve it any ways.

Gaww, this topic's going down, again. :|

Well, I would like to announce that I am fairly certain that the final two symbols are actually in place.

But... only faily certain. We still don't know if there's some kind of hidden room.

Though, I doubt that there could be too much more in the midst of the French area.

Dr. Chip Naef has appointed that his mission is getting close to completion - as of now.

These glyphs are definitely bound to these rooms, though.
And, I know the answer.
But, I am wondering if you'd like to jump in and answer it for me. :D

Oh, and here are the two sneaky hieroglyphs I uncovered. The first one was fairly easy, but the secret passage between the two was a hard puzzle to solve.
(I'm bad at finding these things, apparently).

Hopefully this helps a little bit...
