I was going to sign in on Youtube this morning but it said I can no longer sign in without a google account. I had to make and link the google account with my youtube account. But the only account verification is a cell phone text message. Not email. I dont have a cell phone and I'm not planning to get one. Who thought this one up!? Now I cant read comments or post more videos!

I had to do that... I didn't have to verify it though. I now can post videos that're half an hour long, though, so that's an upside.

How did you do that. If that's not the case how did it happen?

A cell phone text is required to assure that you are not a spambot.

They should also let you verify by calling them.

If the email is full of spam you are a spambot
so why no email

bump. But I have my account back! Here's a procedure of what I did to do this.

1. Wait for a time my parents arent in the house (they may find it unconfortable for number 3)
2. Make a google account
3. Verify by phone call
4. Get the phone and type the desired code
5. Confirm the google account and link with youtube one
6. DONE
