Slide-a new game I'm working on

For a while I've been looking for a idea for a unique puzzle game. Well, I got the idea right here.
In this game, you use the arrow keys to slide around. You can't change direction until you stop, by hitting a wall. You need to get to the goal. Evreything common stops right there! When you pass by a wall, you will uncontrolably go away from it. Look at the screenshot and I'll explain it to you.
You are the red square. The blue squares are walls. The pink squares stop you when you land on them. Anyway, lets say you were to go down, then up. When you go back up to where you started, you would start to go left because you went by a wall on your right. Get it?

Looks interesting. I'd love to play it :3

I posted this about 5 seconds ago.
Thanks! How about a early demo of 20 levels, that might(MIGHT) get out today? I've only been working on this for about half a hour and I got the engine and 3 levels down. 25 minutes of which were making the engine.

It's about time we had a community puzzle game. Im interested too

Great!
But what do you mean by a "community" puzzle game?
7 levels down, 12+1 in case you are superstitious to go.

meh, I was talking about custom games informed to people here in the wonderland forums.

Oh. Ok.
Actually, I'm thinking of adding a level editor and putting some "community" levels into amother game, like with CT1 or SL3.

Does your game have bonuses and traps?

This looks cool.

Left, left, up, right, right, down.
Or have I misunderstood the rules?
Idea sounds neat.

I think you misunderstood, i tried that in my head, and it didnt work. You are the red square, were you thinking you were the green one?
Anyway, I've played games like this before, they're pretty fun.

No. It's puzzle, so traps don't fit(but there is a orange floor that warps you back to the start), and I don't know how to fit bonuses into this kind of gameplay.

Thanks!

Correct, and thanks!

No, he didn't. When you pass the wall at the top it sends you down. That's the unique(and confusing) part of the game. The blue squares are walls, the pink ones stop you, the green one is the goal, and the red one is you.
Thanks!

To complicate the game further, can you have levels with several green squares? You'd have to visit all of them to complete the level.
Otherwise they stop you like pink floors, but once you step off one of them, it disappears.
That could make for some deliciously complicated levels.
The one on the screen shot is fairly simple, is it going to be one of the tutorial ones?

Actually, I allready added purple squares that you must pick up(all of them) to open the exit. It took forever to make a level with them, though, saddly.
It's not realy a toutorial, but it's only level 3, so it's eazy. That's not actually where you start, just for the record.
Demo 1 is 50% done.
Here's a screenshot of Level 10, with purple squares. You can break these cracked walls when they stop you by moving ino them. However, when you break them you don't actually need to keep going in the direction you broke them in. Lets say, you could break one to your right without moving then go to your left. Also, going through walls with either one above and another below or one on the right and one on the left will stop you. Can you solve in mentaly?

Do purple squares stop you like the pink ones? Or do you collect them and then slide further with no way to stop?

You just keep sliding.

I played a game like this. It was called something like "Slider." It was actually the first computer game I ever played.

If you're referring to Slyder/Super Slyder, this is totally different.
If not... *prepares to google Slider*

Yeah, I think it's Slyder.
And it's not too different. You still slide around and stop when you collide with a wall. And other things.

Actually, I was thinking of adding some random other square that acts like the cube dude from Slyder.
Also, I wanted a plot for this. I found one. Your square will repaced with a ailen.
You're name is Slide. You are a ailen in the year 5378. By this time, humans have been far extinct, like evrey other plant and species on earth. Almost. You travel to earth as explorer, and, you find a small forest still alive. To your species, this is the first find of "ailen life", and you set out to find more on earth. After exploring and setting up a outpost on earth, you come to the artic. Saddly, you get lost in the artic, in a place where there's only ice. That's why you slide around.
I might change the plot so that you get stranded on a very cold planet instead.
The good thing about having a plot is that you can have charecters, and in this case I could make a "sequel" as a platformer and it would make a bit more scence.

Aww. I sort of liked the minimalistic squares. Maybe you could have them unlockable as an alternate graphics thingy?

Why not? WP has 8 playable charecters with only 1 object. I think I can handle 2 over here.

Also, the yellow was gonna be swaped with ice. Should I have 1 mode where you keep the origianl and another where you get the new stuff?

Alright, good.
P.S. I posted this with my 3DS. It's awesome. :p

Well, only in my opinion, I don't really like the plot or the idea of one. A game about squares doesn't need such a steriotypical plot.
P.S. I posted this on my iPhone4. It's awesome too. :3

Maybe you can make a white square that will move you like ice and grey conveyor squares too
