It really depends on your computer spec. Can you tell me a little more about your computer (e.g processor, RAM, internet speed, etc)?

Doesn't Team Fortress 2 have an age rating of 15 (containing "strong bloody violence")?

Yes it does. However this forum allows discussion of TF2 as long as no explicit violence/blood/inappropriate stuff are posted.

Well yeah, but this topic is technically about TF2 not loading. It actually loads really quickly for me.

I think yot's concern was about TF2 in general.
As for loading speed, it varies between computer specification. Decent computers should be able to load TF2 within 15-20 seconds.

I know, mine loads in about 30-40 seconds. I have a new computer, and it is much better than my old one. (Probably would have taken at least 4 hours)

I don't want to sound like a bossy parent, but are your Mum and Dad happy with you playing a game like this?

Not many people heed warning to the Age Rating nowadays.

Especially when my 9 year old neighbor plays Black Ops...

Team Fortress might be a fun game, but I always show a violent game to my parents before getting too involved in it.

That's probably the worst way to have good games.
Nowadays, parents approve pretty much everything. (Except mine)
So, you should just sneak a game in. (I am NOT giving you any ideas)

M-rated games such as Black Ops are fine, I like them, but other stupid M-rated games are pretty much just blood and gore with no real purpose.

I got to play the first Diablo game when I was a kid...
I had a pirated Russian translation that had no voices and no music, EXCEPT for the Hive and Crypt levels that had the music. The game itself did not bother me at all, the music scared me badly when I first heard it. I didn't expect it, I was entering the Hive and then there's a bunch of creepy noises.... brrrrrrrr. Then I got used to it and now horror-mystical dark ambient that blends orchestras and weird sounds is one of my favorite subgenres of music.
As for Team Fortress... try and wait and if it really doesn't load, check for your video card drivers. I've heard of some problems caused by the drivers being too old. Just download the new ones then and see if it works.

M rated games does not always mean blood, although most of them do have blood.
For me, I hate FPS for some reason, probably because of the blood. Once some friend of mine got me into TF2... was a disaster.

Yeah, not a lot of people do, myself included. In a lot of cases I know about, the reason younger people play M-Rated games is because... Well, they're M-Rated.
Breaking the rules can be exhilarating for some people. Having said that, the ESRB/other ratings are usually just guidelines. I don't pay much heed to it due to the fact that it's based on age. Someone's physical age isn't tied to their maturity, which is what the ESRB seems to assume to me.

Yeah, but your personality seems extremely mature enough to buy M games anyway.
