Okay, so someone explain. I've been out of the loop for a few days, I get back and find that everyone suddenly hates Tyteen?

Someone explain this from an unbiased standpoint. I've been trying to catch up and I'm not getting anywhere on my own.

Well. Tomoro is April Fools Day, and I guess we are rembering the events regarding spam that took place a year ago thanks to Tyteen.

I was about ready to give a lecture to this forum about a year ago. And considering that i was banned, that's kind of sad. Also, tyteen has been trashing and derailing game topics, mostly the AoDD one.
*grumble grumble*

If you're talking about right now/these days, I don't see anything along those lines, let alone in the AoDD topic. I already know about the EPIK GAM thread, but I'm not counting that because that thread wasn't supposed to be taken seriously.

Allow me to rephrase my question, then - Would someone please explain why everyone is mad at tyteen and back it up?

I don't know this either. Well, the Rulez thing was pretty weird.

There was a similar thing to the rulez thread around a year ago that was done as an April Fool's joke by Tyteen as well, which some people thought was serious, but I don't remember anyone saying anything about hating him, just that it wasn't funny.

I didn't want to be the one to have to explain...

Tyteen has made a lot more bad decisions and has abused his powers more than you other moderator guys have, or other people would if they were moderator, and the two things he did today were the last straws for people. Or something.

Bad decisions? Which ones? I haven't seen any, only ones that people disagree with.

Abusing his powers? Once again, where? I've only seen him do that as jokes on April Fool's.

If that's what people are angry about, there's only one picture I can think of to sum up my feelings:

When I say "No Fun Allowed", I am indeed talking about the Moderator team, myself included. If Tyteen's been doing more than creating what are obviously joke rules topics and changing topic titles (re: Epik Gam thread), then I'm not aware of it. This post is based on the assumption that this is all that's happened here. If he did something else - and I mean here and now, not two years ago or whatever - then please correct me. Anyways...

Thing is, it's April Fool's. Tyteen doesn't have any malicious intent with any of this stuff, so why is everyone so mad? Just because it isn't funny? Don't tell me you've never told a joke to someone that they didn't find funny. From my brief chat with Tyteen, I can ascertain that, like I said, there was no ill intent behind changing a topic's title or a silly rules topic.

Admittedly, while I'm relatively good at reading intentions, I'm not quite as good at reading emotions. I don't know how Tyteen's feeling about this whole ordeal, but based on the posts I've seen from him about this and the aforementioned conversation, he doesn't seem too happy about the heat directed at him, and for good reason.

So, now that this topic's back near the top (not for long, knowing this forum, though), let me ask again:

Would someone please explain to me why everyone's mad at Tyteen and back up any claims about his decisions as a moderator with actual posts/links/screencaps?

I also have missed most of this due to my time zone requiring me to get some sleep. I don't get most of it at all. Changing topic titles and making "RULEZ" is absolutely OK for me during April Fool's day. Quickly looking at the topics, I can't find a single "derail" that people are talking about. In the AoDD topic, all he did was saying that the Chinese translation of some in-game phrase sucked. Since Google Translate tends to epic fail with Chinese and Japanese, it's probably true and actually relevant to the topic.

... that's why I don't like April Fool's Day, I guess. Too much bickering.

I don't like April Fool's Day at all, to be honest. I don't really have much reason for it, it just really bugs me for some reason.

Okay, I know this thread was low down on the page, but honestly, considering that only a few people have posted here about what's going on and neither of them have shown something in support of their statements (no, I'm not saying you're wrong or lying @either of you, don't get me wrong), I'm questioning if there's a reason behind this at all.

So, let me ask one last time. And you know what? This is important to me, and I'm sure it's important to Tyteen as well, so this thread is getting stickied. I want an answer, okay guys? I'm not angry, though it might seem that way, but I hate more than anything else seeing anyone getting ostracized or left out without reason. If there's a reason that someone can explain and back up, then I will back down, but until then...

So, one last time.

Why does everyone seem to be so mad at Tyteen? If it's in question of decisions he's made, link to topics supporting this or post screencaps. If you're just theorizing, then please say so.

My theory is that maybe people just started being mad at him for no reason.

It seems pretty legitimate to me. Even so, if that's the case, I've still got a few questions.

If it was a joke, then did someone organize it, or was it just coincidence that so many people got mad?
If it was a joke, why has no one spoke up to say so? I think my anger with this scenario's relatively clear at this point. If it was a joke, I'm not going to be angry (though I don't find it funny, honestly).

It's just people just got annoyed with the way Tyteen has acted, he has tried to do April Fool's jokes, but no one ever finds them funny, they are obnoxious, and Tyteen has been unfair in the past. Like that one time in the "We need to set a time for IRC", editing "not rly" into dlcs18's post.

Also, I find this topic ( http://www.pcpuzzle.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=23171 ) locked unfairly, as to me, useless/unfinished does not equal non-secret intentions.

And once again, I reiterate - Who here hasn't told a joke to someone that they didn't find funny? When/If that happened to you, did they get mad at you and tell you to stop?

Tyteen has a different sense of humor, there's no malicious intent behind what he's doing. If someone told you a joke that you didn't find funny more than once, would you get mad at them?

While I agree he shouldn't use his ability to edit anyone's posts for something like that, there was still no malicious intent behind it. He merged Dlcs' posts, it's not like he did anything rude. I agree he was unclear on that, and from what I'm reading he deleted other posts there in response to the DP, and I do agree with that use of moderator abilities. However, once again, unless there's something that was there before that isn't now, I still see absolutely no malicious intent behind any of this.

I have to say I agree with Tyteen on principle here. There's already a thread for projects and games, and while the title is more specific, we don't need more than one unless it's a project guaranteed to be going somewhere.

If it's so obvious that people want to "leave it in the past", then why did people start getting angry at Tyteen of their own free will? All I did here was ask why people are mad at him. I already stated my position - I stand against any ostracizing of anyone, unless there's a very good reason behind it. If I don't see one myself or it seems unjust, then I'm going to start asking what's going on. I've read through the EpikGam thread post-Tyteen's title change (once again, if he did more, let me know because that's my basis here), and I see people (not pointing fingers, though the people who posted these know who they are) claiming such things as inflammatory as these:

Some of these might have been meant in jest. Thing is? They aren't funny. I know I said Tyteen has a different sense of humor, but there's a difference between these two events - Tyteen's hasn't had any negative intent or undertones behind what he's done. The old joke rules thread that said "MODERATORS ARE ALWAYS RIGHT" had a bit of that from what I recall, but it was obviously in jest. These messages have a very strong negative undertone to them. Even if they are supposed to be a joke, there's nothing in... just about any of them that tips it off.

I've been on forums where flaming is allowed. True story. And you know what? Never saw a single thing like this happen. Not once. The fact that it's happening here on a forum where flaming isn't allowed is not a good sign.

Did I mention that said forums had the entire staff play pranks like this, including a day where they pretended to shut the site down and banned all discussion of the series it was about? Yeah.

If people want to "leave it in the past", then it's logical for me to assume that the rage directed at Tyteen is because of him making a fake Rulez topic and changing the title of another topic. Once again, if he did something besides these two events, someone tell me, as that's all I'm seeing when I check what's going on.

Am I standing on my own in Tyteen's defense? Honestly, yes, it looks that way. I'm stubborn like that. Like I said, I do not stand for ostracizing someone as strongly as Tyteen has been without sufficient reason - Having suffered from it very severely at school, I don't find it funny, even in jest.

I do not mean to sound rude or angry in any of these posts. If I'm coming across as such, then I apologize - The only reason I can think of is, like mentioned above, I am against people being picked on or left out. I have a lot of suppressed anger because of it happening to me.

If I'm wrong and Tyteen did do something beyond what I've seen that made people legitimately angry, then I will acknowledge it. However, like I've said, I do not see anything.

There's no point in me hiding this - I have very high standards when I'm looking for an explanation. However, it is my honest opinion that said element of my personality is not coming into play here. If someone disagrees, then feel free to say so. Like I've said twice already, while I might be coming across as angry, I swear, I have no intention to do so.

4. Tyteen clearly did not learn his lesson last April Fool's Day, because he engaged in similar antics this year as well.

• He stickied a topic which certainly did not need nor deserve being stickied, http://www.pcpuzzle.com/forum/viewtopic ... 5&start=90, but unstickied it immediately after the topic's creator renamed it to "TYTEEN'S WRATH".
• On the fourth page of this topic, several examples are given of users dissatisfied with this decision. He also deleted the old rules topic, and replaced it with a topic named "RULEZ" which contained only the sentence "well not for today". Thankfully, he was dissuaded from his rampage before he could cause any more chaos.

5. Tyteen has also made numerous obnoxious small edits to posts. Such examples include:

• unnecessarily editing Dlcs18's post during a debate to include "not rly" (see dlcs18's post and following)
• an edit of boywholies' "Casino Boywhoflies" game topic to "CaSSSSSSSino Boywhoflies" (see the middle of the 1st page)
• and adding a fourth, unnecessary option to a lighthearted poll

We, the undersigned, hereby dissaprove of tyteen's job as moderator and respectfully request that he be removed from office.

A lot of people were frustrated that day.

Where'd this petition come from? Like I said, I've been checking around and never saw it until now.

Also yeah, since this topic's getting attention now I'll unsticky it. Doesn't mean I feel this issue's resolved, honestly - I'm still confused as to what got people so riled up.

It was kind of like everyone was chatting in the chatroom, and then it evolved into a conspiracy against tyteen which everyone seemed to get into upon visiting the chat. Some were more enthusiastic than others, others were a bit more reluctant. A lot of time was spent on writing the petition.
