The Minecraft Runescape Project -Third WIP save uploaded-

As I said before, I'm going to make a replica of Gielinor (The main plane of Runescape) in Minecraft. I decided to make a topic out of this because I don't like it in the Minecraft topic's clutter. The tools and programs I'll use are Fraps, MCedit, and Biome Painter. When I'm finished 99.9% of the project, I'll make a movie out of it with me showing the whole place. If I can, I'll also make the same screenshots and make another movie this time in 3D.

Being an all-time fan of RS, I know my way around places, and this is THE MOST accurate RS replica I've ever seen!!!

I would love to see the Wilderness and Al-Kharid. When you're done, you could upload this and let people download it (and then they could blow up the Grand Exchange).

I'm currently making the happy little island of Crandor (not) and after that, I plan to make Al Kharid followed by the wildy.

After making the free part, I need to buy myself a members card to not only enjoy the members benefits of Runescape again but to take screencaps of the members environments.

I could help you make some of the parts, as I've been a member for 2 years.

Making all the northern islands will be really tricky (Jhatizo, Neitiznot, The Iceberg, Miscelenia, Lunar Isle etc.). Getting all the distances between them right will take a lot of work.

On your "Ape Atol and Beyond" list, there's something called "Marim" or "Manim". I've never heard of it. Does it do something for a quest?

BTW, you'll have to complete a lot of quests to reach some of the areas you plan to make.

Marim is the village area of Ape Atoll, right?

As for access I'm able to get to the following place where stuff is required

- Ape Atoll
- Trollheim
- Chefs, crafting, mining, champions, warriors guild
- Shilo Village
- Crash Island
- West Ardougne
- Monastery
- Canifis and around

And if someone is wondering how I rebuilt Tutorial Island, I looked up a video of an old Tutorial Island walkthrough

So you still need to reach the Elven Forest area and the north-westeren islands?

BTW, you were right about Marim.

I've yet to reach Tirranwn.

Also, I updated the list. I have daemonheim stuff on it. For the daemonheim floors, I won't have enough for 60 floors as I dig down through the earth. So I'll minimize the number of floors while having all the themes in. I will make random floors that contain the randomly generated rooms.

Cool :D I'm currently working on making Kingdom Hearts on Minecraft. So far I've only done one little part.

Al Kharid is targeted for construction right now. It will be interesting to make since it was revamped from a recent RS update. Of course the Stolen Hearts quest is required to enter the palace but I got that cleared off. What I'm looking forward to the most is the agility course from the crafting shop to the palace during the quest. I will love making those agility courses because they're not just art, they're interactive too!

Speaking of which, here's a list of what I would like to see after I built it
- Agility courses (THE MOST)
- Grand Tree
- Tree Gnome Village (mostly because of the maze)
- Trollheim
- Dorgesh Kaan
- Keldagrim
- Meiyerditch
- Polypore Dungeon
- Slayer Tower

MineCraft is YourCraft too!

Those minecraft screenshots are so nice;
I especially like Goblin Village and Draynor Manor.
How long did it take to piece them together?

P.s.: That's a long checklist I see there; I assume that the projects in red
are the one's not done yet.

Yeah. Finished with Al Kharid. It's the new Al Kharid that has been recently redesigned. Stuff based on new stuff are cool!

I'm going to build the free version of the wildy next. I'll use the swamp biome like I did with the musa point volcano and paint the whole region with it. Wilderness screenshots will appear in night time. Although it's very big, it basically has trees, plains, ruins, and few points of interest meaning building takes long for these places. Screenshots soon once I make more of Gielinor.

Also, I could make Botany Bay which came from the revamped Al Kharid update if it's a non-members activity.

Several things to chatter about

I'm still working on Wilderness. I'm currently working on the trail through some woods just west of Daemonheim. But if I run out of free world to build, I'll might need a membership card. Unless Yot Yot can hook me up with screenshots of the members worlds so we can feast our eyes on some new magnificent project updates.

@Yot Yot: If you'd like, I'll give you an assignment of where to take and send pictures after I build 99.9% of the free areas.

Jagex said they're revamping Goblin Village and Doric's house. Expect the new Minecraft Goblin Village in a week or so. (yet it was so soon after the new Al Kharid update)

Also, I've accidently been looking at pictures of others' runescape projects, and it looks like my version of the project is one of the best. :D

That'd be great! Do you mind me taking the pics in low quality? (my pc is really slow when it comes to RS).

Western Ruins
Those spiders look creepy . Did you make their texture ?

Posted: Wed Oct 17, 2012 11:44 pm
by Technos72
They're part of the texture pack LB Photo Realism which I didn't make.

Also, as I make the wilderness, it feels like Burning Man Festival where it takes place in the desert with random large models of art around the place. The wilderness refers to the desert while the buildings are art, which is exactly what I'm making.

Recently, I killed the Giant Mole for the first time. I think making the Falador Mole Lair is going to be a lot of fun!!! :)

I don't know if it's going to be fun. The tunnels look boring IIRC.

I'm going to re-edit roofs for some villages. I've done Fally and going to do the roof re-edits for Tutorial Island, Draynor, and Lumby. This change is using stair and slab blocks to make them less blocky.

Going to work on the lava maze part of the wildy now. Mazes are fun

To add some magic to the project, I'll learn to make my own mob mods so that we have runescape mobs running around the place

by boywhoflies
I have no idea what any of them are, but that actually sounds REALLY AWESOME.

Yeah. I must learn to make mob mods that only requires modloader and if I can make a re-model or re-skin on a normal mob with a spawn egg included. The tutorial I found does not fit the criteria. So I'll have to wait.

Haha. I got Misa's texture pack for Minecraft and it is EPIC!

If I get permission from Misa to use this texture pack in future screenshots, I'll stop using the LB photo realism texture pack for screenshots and use this pack from now on. Though I'm concerned about the wilderness because now the grass is not black anymore.

YESH. Finished Daemonheim! But I'll do the dungeoneering floors later. The distance from the Daemonheim surface to the void stretches for 25 floors. I'll do 5 for each theme, 2 for abandoned 1 and 3 for abandoned 2. I'll do more floors as I progress making more towns and stuff outside.

Oh and I forgot to say this is the minecraft project of my entire young adult life.

I have the first screenshot assignment for Yot Yot. If you're ready, I'll PM you the information.
