MAZE

Post by dig 222 » Thu Jan 10, 2013 6:11 pm

Well, I wrote this fanfiction, I have most of the chapters, but havn't written the final two yet. This was based off of YotYots brilliant adventure called Maze. (Which is based off of Christopher Manson's book.)
I did it in notebook so the paragraphs may look strange. I'll slowly post the chapters, to see any comments. I wrote the story, and now I'm re-writing the chapters to make them a bit longer. Although the Prologue and Chapter 1 are INCREDIBLY small. The main character is Oondy from MOFI. Now without further ado...

MAZE

Prologue

It was a cold winter night in Wonderland.
The wind blew ominously, propelling the snow-topped
trees and blowing the doors open.
A lone traveller crossed a mossy bridge.
He looked around suspiciously, and sat down
on a fallen birch log. His eyes
were a strong green, a slight hint of a beard
marring his smooth face. An emerald blade, indented
with thousands of miniature runes, was lazily slung
across his back. He got up, off the log and looked
upward.
Scritters in the trees look down
upon him, making sure to hide if he made a move.
But the stinker had a kind heart, and threw down some
Scritter-Seed he had in his backpack. The creatures
clambered down and ate the seeds quietly.
Oondy smiled.

Chapter 1 - The Blackout

Oondy had seeked a place to stay: but the
inns were closed.
The floor was not an option for someone of even his
daredevil standards.
Oondy adjusted his deep brown fedora.
"There's gotta be SOME place to stay for the night!"
He lamented.

The castle stood alone in a clearing. A thick and
muddy path lead up to its foreboding portcullis and
door.
The twisted, dying trees were the only company
it could ever hope to recieve.
"Not exactly an inn... but... close enough." Oondy
whispered.

*BASH* *BASH* *BASH*

"Anyone there?" Nothing. Silence.
He knocked on the door again. A distant sound could
be heard, quiet at first but growing louder.
It could only be described as Screaming, Pain.
A sound quite familier to him.
The wind exploded in a violent crackle of breeze,
causing the doors hinges to sag to the ground.
Sword drawn. Eyes weary.
Oondy could only helplessly watch as the oversized
door collapsed on top of him.

Chapter 2 - The Guide

"Ugghhh... My head."
An odd creature was looking directly at Oondy.
It looked just like a stinker, but its skin was
pure water, covering its entire body. A shadow
stinker!
Oondy got up, and looked at his surroundings.
He was in a small room, there were 4 doors, and some
strangely coloured buttons.
"Where... am I?" He questioned.
"You are in my maze." The creature answered.
"YOUR maze?"
"Yes, MY maze. As well as its guide, I am its
architect too."
A very good one at that, Oondy thought.
Oondy began to realize that he was going to have to
explore the maze - That made him very happy.
(Suprisingly)
"Any tips on which door to take?"
"No," The guide answered. "I've always let people
take their own choices"
"Can you give me a tiny hint?"
Oondy was getting desperate.
He analized the buttons around him. Mushroom, Steel,
Moss, and Fire.

The guide cleared his throat.
"Examine every option. Don't jump out of the
frying pan and into the fire. Especially if its a
steel frying pan filled with tasty mushrooms." He
explained.

"Into the FIRE? STEEL frying pan? Tasty MUSHROOMS?"
Oondy put the peices together. Moss hasn't been
mentioned, does this mean its safe?
As if the guide had read his mind, a slight smile
cracked across his lips. (Which were barely visible.)

"ROOM TWENTY-SIX!" Oondy read out loud, dashing
through the door.

Chapter 3 - The Fire

The room had a wood floor, and was filled with chairs
and stools. It looked like some kind of movie
theatre!
"What room is THIS?" Oondy asked.
"This, is my theatre." The guide whispered. "It
seems there is a play being acted right now!"

Oondy looked up and saw a somewhat recognisable
figure on the stage, wearing a costume that made it look like it was burning. It had a rather sad
expression. Well, it WAS on fire.
"I don't know about you, but that person up there
looks rather familiar, you?"
"Hmm..."

"ROOM TWENTY FOUR!"

"Nrrrgh..." The guide mumbled.
"ROOM 24, HERE I COME!!!!" Oondy yelled as he kicked
the door down and ran in.
The room was empty. Nothing.
"WELL THIS IS A STUPID RO- AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHGARGH!"
Oondy fell, and fell, for what seemed like hours.
Finally he landed in an almost pitch black room.
People were around him, left and right, front and
back.
"I can't see! Where are the doors!?" Oondy screamed.
"Be careful where you step. This spot is taken."
The guide said, bluntly.
"Hello? HELLO?!"
Oondy was starting to worry.
"There are no doors. You are here with the rest of
us now." The strange person next to him explained.
This couldn't happen! "NO!" "Oondy pushed one of the
creatures backwards. More and more rose from
the ground and fell from the ceilings!
They rejoiced around Oondy, raising their skeletal
hands to embrace him.
"Get off me!" Oondy yelled as if the creatures were annoying insects. Suddenly, ropes began to fall from above, smacking
them in the face.
"GRAB ON TO THE ROPE OONDY! And uhh... Whatever the
heck that is?" A voice yelled from above.
Oondy did as instructed.
But the guide didn't.

Chapter 4 - The Partner

Once Oondy had reached the top, a red-hatted wizard
was there to greet him. "Guggenheimer! Am I glad to
see you!" Oondy celebrated. "How did you know I was
here?" "I sensed you was here, this is a place of
my past." Guggenheimer explained.
Oondy looked suprised.
"You mean, you've completed this maze?" Oondy asked.
"Some of it." Guggenheimer replied.
The suprise from the Guide not grabbing on to the
rope had Oondy in shock.
"Why didn't he make it?" Oondy questioned.
"They were his own kind." Guggenheimer replied.
"People who, err... have failed the maze."
"Youch... I don't really fancy turning into one of
THOSE creeps!"

"Well, which way next?"
"Whichever way you deem correct."

"ROOM THIRTY SIX!"

The room had a dirty floor, and was surrounded by
dead trees and other forest greenery. 2 wee stinkers
wearing multicoloured caps were executing some pretty
groovy moves.
"Guggen, what are they doing?"
"Dancing, evidently. They come here for peace and
quiet."
"I... think I understand."

ROOM SIXTEEN!
ROOM THIRTY FOUR!

Oondy had some quiet time for a bit. "I think I'll choose
16. After all, its my lucky number!"
The sooner we get out of this room the better,
those dancers are starting to creep me out.

Now, THIS room looked fit for a king. Quite literally.
The floor was a rich velvet carpet, the walls a
smooth brick. The room was filled from left to
right with statues of kings and warlords. The
expressions on their faces all the same:
frightened. "Why are these statues so scared?"
"BELEIVE ME, YOU WOULD BE PRETTY SCARED IF SOMEONE
HAD FORCED YOU ONTO A PEDESTAL IN A CREEPY HOUSE."
A voice from below stated.
"Mr. Guide?" Oondy enquired.

"YOU COULD SAY THAT."
A strange vibrating noise began to sound.
"Quick, Oondy! GET ON THE FLOOR NOW!" Guggenheimer
demanded.

Chapter 5 - The Trap

FWOOOOOOOSH! The fireballs that had just exploded
through the room met their death as they hit the
brick walls. And Guggenheimer.

TO BE CONTINUED!

Nice fanfiction! Just remember not to give away any of the answers to the puzzles in rooms to come, because I haven't given to answers to any of those on the Maze topic and I don't want people to just read the answers here.
