Geometry Dash

Post by FinnThor » Sat Sep 17, 2016 5:42 pm

Alright, now I'm not sure if a topic for this has already been created or not, excuse me if it has, but I was wondering what your (as in everyone's) opinion on Geometry Dash is. (If you've played it.)

I guess I'll also make this a poll.

Kind-of bump

But if you weren't following me on Steam. I love this game.

The game is highly addicting to me. In fact, so addicting, that it literally took me one entire night to beat the final main level of the game, Deadlocked (After attaining 95% before my rampage, grr). I've also gotten all coins in all 20 levels recently.

My Geometry Dash account is RoberTime, the same as my Forum title. I've yet to make a level myself, but my idea for my first level is looking nice.

Can't wait for 2.1!

2.1 at this point is RobTop's equivalent of HL3. It's never gonna be a thing, no matter how many demos we get. I think we should just be happy that the last two updates gave us custom content and all that jazz.

Also, has anyone played or at least seen Dub Dash before? I can't get it myself, but it's one wiiild game...maybe it warrants a separate topic, IDK.

I mean, Valencia Part 2 (for Pirate101) used to be an equivalent to HL3, but it got released, so its possible that 2.1 could get released. (I know they are different devs but you get the idea)

Also, I haven't played geometry dash, but it looks like a cool platformer.

You guys, I found a new Facebook post by RobTop saying 2.1 is afoot. Rubrub (I would say Robert but I'm avoiding confusion) is planning a release between next week to next month.

What's more? One of the main music composers for the game, Waterflame, has made a track specifically for Geometry Dash.

Watch the editors go crazy. I think it's time for me to make my own level soon. (I was in the middle of making one, but didn't come around to finishing it by a long shot)

EDIT: I'm going to try livestreaming my first GD build soon

Oh yeah, I used to play this game all the time. I even had one of those Geometry Dash YouTube channels, and even when I moved to my music channel I still had a couple GD videos on there. I stopped playing it after a while, because it got boring and the community was just getting worse and worse. I actually realized how much I love music through the song Stereo Madness, which was the first level's music. Before I kind of quit, I had beaten pretty much every level aside from Theory of Everything 2 and Time Machine. Yeah, Time Machine. I'm still confused about that one.

But yeah, playing it again, it's alright. Not as good as I remember it being, but it's fun. That's my opinion on it.

What makes Time Machine hard? It's just a lot of triple spikes, that's all.

I honestly have no idea. I haven't attempted it in a while though. It's probably gotten easier now that I beat Deadlocked.

It took me a while to realize in the video, those weren't flip orbs or springs, but they were supposed to be yellow. The guy who recorded modded the game a bit.

I too modded my own interface, in case you haven't known.

Going to bump this back up to list some things I've been doing on GD recently.

- Waiting for 2.2

2.2 really needs to come out soon, and I guess we can call this "the new equivalent of HL3" for RobTop. :^)

- Beating more demons

The only major ones that are worth mentioning are Nine Circles (Hard Demon), Hi (Insane Demon), Cataclysm (Extreme Demon), and Bloodbath (Extreme Demon). Then we have a few minor easy and medium demons. (And ridiculous amounts of attempts poured into those 2 extreme demons)

I guess it's also worth mentioning that I've beaten all the RobTop levels with all the coins.

- Starting to use the Editor

I'm pretty bad with it right now, but I might start uploading some levels soon when I get better with it and actually learn how to properly decorate a level.

My GD Account name is SuperCheese64.

2.2's delay is apparently the result of pushback from fans who think the changes are too drastic. I mean, it's been possible to make an extremely unfair level since 1.0, so ultimately it's just honour code to make playable levels and downvote or upvote based on playability. I think the whole argument is kind of silly, really.

...if you can call it that. I don't think I like this game anymore.

thats probably unnecessary bump but do you guys think 2.2 will be released on august 13th, just for the 10th anniversary of GD
release or not, i think the hype is overrated because we got like most of gd 2.2 features leaked in the gdps editor and people have made countless of fun levels, i guess im excited for the steam version because bluestacks/nox/ldplayer are kiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinda trash. oh also the megahack mod, that thing will probably take good few months to update to 2.2 too, (i got addicted to megahack's few features ooooooof)

Yeah, I'm afraid that this can be used distastefully to make random and unfair moves. There was enough of that added in 2.0 and 2.1.

There really should be an option for "It doesn't really matter to me."
