Hiya everyone! I'm not sure if this is applicable for the entire world or just for the USA but every year on my birthday the Perseids meteor shower is very visible. Tonight at around 2am (Midwest US) is the peak time to see this beautiful display. I think in Australia you may be a bit disappointed though. More info here http://science.nasa.gov/headlines/y2007 ... rseids.htm
You'll see a "shooting star" type streak through the sky about once every minute. There is no moon tonight and if you can get to an area that has no street lights and a clear view through trees etc. you'll see a neat show.
I always say it's God celebrating my birthday hehehe
Just thought ya might be interested.

Thanks sweetie!
My son and I and a few of his friends went to a boat landing near us which is in total darkness. We saw many "shooting stars" tonight. We stayed from 9:30 to just a few minutes ago. Awesome display! It's supposed to get even better within a few hours.
Just beautiful to see all the stars and then the long flashes....so impressive.
Of course this was a pack of 13 year old boys so the silliness was plentiful as well hehehe

That's a wonderful thing to happen on your birthday every year. Sorry I missed this, I would have loved to have watched it, but I didn't know anything about it. Would have been nice if there had been something in the paper or on the news but I guess it just wasn't news worthy to the media.
I'll try to remember this next year.
