I Simply Have To Vent, Or I'll Burst!!!

I finally got my computer, but with everything going on, I haven't had time to play DTRW.

I decided to do some work on my levels while I have a few minutes tonight, and before I went in to test one, I decided to see if I could change the detail level in the Options screen to High, something I've never been able to do before.

Well! What a shock!

I can finally see Wonderland the way it was meant to be seen! It's like getting new glasses after years of squinting!

I had no idea that Stinky et. al are 3D! It's simply amazing! I would never have guessed!

It's like watching the old Flintsone or Rocket Robin Hood cartoons, and then watching Shrek...the differences are astounding!!!!!!

Yippeeeeeeeee! Yeeeehaaaaaw! I'd do backflips, but I'd never get back on my feet!

I had a similar experience just recently when I got some new glasses. What a difference it made. My previous glasses were bought before our first girl was born and had been drooled all over, bitten, dropped scratched, chewed, gnawed, hurled, stepped on, sat on, rolled over & bent into all shapes imaginable. She will make a great teacher one day passing on all her knowledge about destroying daddy's glasses to her baby sister who faithfully followed through drooling, biting....

I had the girl behind the counter who served me laughing as I swapped between glasses seeing the difference as I looked out the front window to the main street. Turning to her I said, wow even you're much clearer now... she said that probably wasn't a good thing as she'd been up driving all night coming back from the coast with her grandpa

Anyway, better get back to my level...

*Sigh* I have to get new glasses too.

I really noticed the difference when I came into the forum last night. I caught myself trying to read the posts, and suddenly realized that my nose was about 2 inches from the screen.

It's been nearly 4 years since I had to have a new prescription, so I guess I shouldn't complain too loud, especially since my old eye doctor told me that because I'd needed 5 new prescriptions in 3 years when I was in my late teens, I'd likely be legally blind by the time I was 24...I'm 34 and don't have any worse vision than most people. Thank Heaven! That's my worst fear, loosing my vision. I'd rather go deaf than blind.

Just working it out in AC3D now... oops, just remembered the contest idea... I'll PM you soon with something. The texturing might be a little rough but I'm working on some unique game elements that haven't been done before... I'm sure you & Pauline will appreciate the ideas... curious?
