Got new headphones, and decided to take a listen to all 6 in-game tracks. Every single track was better than I thought, track 6 (the spooky one) WOW STUFF OF NIGHTMARES.

Why did they sound better? Stereo (as opposed to mono) effects?

It's not because it was stereo vs mono it's because the old headphones were just crap. These tiny little ambient background noises, they add SO MUCH to all the tracks -- and the old headphones didn't output them well.
