I'm leaving tomorrow

Hi all,

I guess you allready know I'll be leaving tomorrow to visit Lillie and then go to the convention

So don't worry about me just because I'm not around for a week

I think I'll go nuts waiting for tomorrow, though

Oh well.... I have a lot of packing to keep me occupied

, not to mention my step-kids, who are busy wrecking the appartment and being at each others' throats

Kids.....

Have a great time at Lilo Lil's Mette, don't tire yourself out too much though. There's a lot more to come (hehe) next week.

Mette, don't bring any rain with you. We have had some really scorching days here, today it is a bit windy but nice sunny spells.

Just so long as we get dry weather next Saturday for the activities, I don't care if it rains before then.

John has everything set up in case we do get bad weather, his workshop will be used for the BBQ and there's eight bales of hay left over from the horses, we can sit on them. It will be like a barn dance!

In other words, NOTHING is gonna spoil our fun.

Once again, have a great time in London.

I meant I was wishing I was coming to the convention, not to London. Not that there's anything wrong with London you understand.

It's a 4 hour drive to London from here. A long way to go for lunch, don't you think? Thanks for the invite though, it's appreciated.

It's red, white, and blue btw, but it won't matter what colour they are cos she'll be the only one with wickers on her head.

Old Glory is your flag Laura, the Union Jack is ours. It's easy to get confused, they are the same colour after all.

Re the flag business .. I has been sitting on my hands biting my lip for a wee while but couldn't leave it ... just call me "anchor-faced", the Union Flag can only be referred to as a Union Jack when flying at the jack-staff on one of Her Majesty's Ships (and then only alongside or at anchor)

Having been humiliated by an intolerant CPO for getting it wrong - once - it will live with me forever. Even now I cringe when they get it wrong on the telly although I've been impressed with Sky News lately - they always say "Union Flag"

Lillie Longbeard reporting in - CAPTIN'!

Mette and Bjarne arrived safely yesterday! I met them at the airport - wickers on my head (not really)

We spent a nice day yesterday getting to know each other a bit and I made dinner for everyone. The boys are probably driving them nuts

They have gone off out into town today - to explore and do a bit of sightseeing. I am sure they will have a lovely time as the sun is shining today - yesterday it piddled down all day!

I am sure Mette will come on the forum soon and give you an update of her week.

Can't wait for the Convention - only 4 more days to go

Kazbah, being a sailors daughter I'm glad you put everyone straight.

Just one thing I'd like to add for Laurie Lou, the Union flag isn't just for England but all the UK. Being a Scot, I had to get that wee bit in ya know.

As to the colour of tartan, it all depends which clan is wearing it.
I like the Stewart tartan, here's an example. (no wickers btw)
