I wouldn't say it's a Happy Anniversary but an anniversary none the less!

NEVER FORGET
In Memory of 9-11-01

I'll never forget that awful day
When our world turned upside down
The stunning blow that shook us all
It could happen in any town.

Our lives are changed forever
Caution leads the way
We're wary now and careful
No, we shall never forget that day.

We used to be so impatient
As we hurried from place to place
But now we patiently wait our turn
With a smile upon our face.

We'll never forget those we lost
In our hearts they will remain
They sacrificed for all of us
And they did not die in vain.

So never forget that awful day
And how it changed us all
Coming together with care and love
One nation...standing proud and tall.

Lovely poem, Lisa. I don't think any of us will ever forget it. So many things changed and we remember all those who died as a result of a few fanatics and those who died trying to save so many others.

I know this is three days to late but I remember where i was when I found out what happened (3rd period Ms. Corbin-Reed's Pre-algebra class) I got this a while a go and just got it again today. Freightrain, I appreciate your intellegence & awareness, but I'm not so sure this forum is the proper place for such a link, although I appreciate you sharing it with me.
This is a place I like to come to relax have fun & try to block out the rest of the world for a short period of time.

I found that quite enlightening Freightrain. If this is the right place to post remembrance messages of 9:11 then it should also be the right place to post other things relevant to it. And no-one is forced to click on the link if they don't want to.

That's all right. I like to be as informed as I can be on things that I expierience, and that's not always a good thing. But I thought I might share this with others who might like to see it.

Haven't had a cup of coffee yet, so forgive my half-numb brain.

I actually don't think this sort of thing belongs in this forum. I know this is an off-topic category, but I do still draw the line (as said in forum rules) at political and religious debates and offensive content. I would argue that 9-11 falls into political (esp. with the current drift of the conversation). I mean, you can basically go to ANY other forum on the internet and do a search for 9-11 and get a fourty page flame-fest. I simply don't think we want that sort of thing on the board. This is a fairly small community, and while we mostly get along, we are not immune from these sorts of fights breaking out (just look at some of the upset caused by where to move signature images - wait until we discuss US politics!

). So at the risk of looking too protective, AND WITH NO OFFENCE MEANT TO ANY POSTERS ABOVE (!!!), I will lock this thread.
