Who Smokes?

Post by Lillian » Wed Oct 19, 2005 12:50 pm

I noticed that EVERYONE at the Convention smoked ciggies except Lizzie.

I was just wondering if it was a Wonderland "thing" to smoke?

Both Stan and I smoke but only in the garden and never in the house. I only smoke about 7-10 a day.

Who else smokes/doesn't smoke?

I used to smoke (back in the dark ages) but decided to give it up one day - and did   . One of the few things I did for the good of my health

Me! But I don't think it's a Wonderland thing! I started in high school, way before wonderland ever existed.
(It wasn't here in the early 1990's was it?)

I've never smoked, I'm a good girl I am!! :P

My husband Nev used to smoke 60 a day, but when I told him how much it was costing him in a year and that it would pay for a family holiday, he gave up just like that. That was in 1992 and he hasn't had one fag since. He must have saved himself at least £30,000 in that time.

Oh, I forgot to add, anyone who comes to visit and wants a fag has to go outside, even if it's raining. So be warned.

Another smoker to add to the list :!: :!: :!: Both my husband & I have smoked for years. Figure I've already done the damage so no point in quitting now. Do smoke in the house with all the candles burning -- how else could I do Wonderland puzzles without a cig :?: :?: :?: :?:Image (Know this isn't a cigarette but kind of looks like me puffing away)

I'm with you Kiki, smoked lots of different things over the years, from the looks of it we're about the same age... So I survived the 70's & 80's. I have a very addictive personality, but the only addictions I still practice are, smoking cigarettes ( not in the house or around Emily) & wonderland of course

I'm a smoker, but thinking about quitting soon. I've smoked for 13 years and never tried quitting before. I'm kind of bitchy normally, so if I decide to quit....WATCH OUT!! :x

I don't think it's a Wonderland thing, I think it's a computer geek thing. Those non-smokers are too busy running marathons or something we can't do to sit in front of the computer for hours.

I used to smoke a couple packs a day but quit about 18 years ago. Probably saved a small fortune by now! Bob smoked until recently but finally chose to quit cause of medical issues. I like to think his choice will give us a few more years together!

I started smoking when I was 9 years old! But only started smoking about 15 a day when I started teaching. I was a hippie in the 1970s (I think that says it all  ).

I gave up smoking when I got pregnant with my son. So I haven't smoked for 20 years now. No one is allowed to smoke in our house. If you want a ciggy, you have to go in the garden.

A friend of mine (who smoked about 40 a day) had to have both her legs amputated because of smoking-induced atherosclerosis, which was so severe she got gangrene.

I sit in from of my computer for hours on end, especially when I'm busy modelling or something, without ciggies, so it's definitely not a geeky thing.

PS. I couldn't even run across the road, never mind a marathon.

I can't believe anyone still enjoys smoking these days, when you know how bad it is for your health, and you get sent out of places to do it. Don't you feel like lepers? :o :o :o

Just joined the "Smoking Cessation Program" at the Hospital that I work at. I also was able to convince 8 friends to join me in the quest to better ourselves. I run 5 miles a day and it was starting to become more and more difficult.

non smoker here. I have enough troubles with a cruddy immune system. Add to that, I'm allergic to the smoke. My dad smoked for as long as i can remember up until he passed away last year tomorrow. My mom smoked and had to stop due to heart problems. My stepdad smokes a pipe. I've grown up around it but won't start.
