Thanks All! It was my pleasure to share them with you. I wished all of you had one or two of them. I think you would enjoy them as much as I do. These are double Confederate roses.
I can't wait until the white one I have blooms it is starts out white and turns pink. I haven't seen one of those in bloom yet, so I am anxious.

We have 3 confederate roses right now, they were so pretty when they bloomed. We took a bunch of cuttings before the frost got to them. When they take root I'm gonna pass them out to friends next spring. I sure hated cutting them back but at least I know they'll come back next year. My husband says their also called a hibiscus rose.

uneekrose, I had three but i dug one up and gave it to a friend! I have cut mine back and give to family and friends. Even it you do't cut them back they will not die. But you live in NC and I know it snows there so it might be best to cut them back. We don't get snow here that often. I put alot of leaves around mine.
I have always cut mine back but my neighbors didn't last winter and they made it. I thinking of not cutting mine back at all, and yes they are known as Hibicus rose. But I have done a lot of research to know how to take care of them. The Conederate Rose have been a great joy.
Are your's a Double Confederate Rose? Mine is, I have a white one and a pink one.

I cut mine back after the 1st frost and they come back every year. I have a light pink and a darker pink flower on one tree. I put pine straw around them after I cut them back, I put pine straw around everything. We live in southeast NC, a zone 7, so we don't get much snow. I didn't learn about the rose till a few years ago. My hubby works at a nursery and garden center, he put me up a green house 2 years ago. I do a lot of planting of house plants and sell them at one of the flea markets here in the summer. I love plants and there's a lot of resouces available online, what I don't know about I try to learn. I belong to several online garden clubs. I harvested my 1st pineapple last year and it was so sweet. I got 9 plants off of the one, they should produce this next summer. I have pictures on webshots. I just love trying new plants.
