Hi everyone - sorry for the disappearing act - DON'T ASK

OK - this thread has turned out to be hilarious - you guys crack me up!!!!

Poops has been score-keeping - thanks Poops! We are STILL waiting for answers from:

AMY and Dylan (I think - apologies if you have sent them and they have gone astray? Please confirm)

I guess we can keep it open for one more day - so answers in you two by lunchtime tomorrow (Wednesday 4th).

Poops and I should be around tomorrow to put the winners/answers up on this thread in the afternoon. After that, If you guys would like to post your own answers and little explanation of why you guessed which house to whatever person, etc - please do!

This is a BUMMER of Galactic proportions!!

You're not going to believe the things I organized to celebrate my coming victory in this contest. It's not just the popcorn. I invited the whole neighbourhood to come over and share in the glory. Carla & hubby De Vries of # 9 are making Belgian waffles as I write this. Just around the corner the Kuzmi family is preparing a ton of Shish Kebab, and all the kids are helping. Extra chairs, tables and an inflatable playground for the kids have been delivered, courtesy of the Bodegraven's of # 14. They will be collected again tomorrow morning at 10.
All of the above, with the Jansen's, the Kesselaar's, the entire Stegeman household (7 of them), Mr Donner on the groundfloor, the lovely Russian couple of # 29 ánd little Miss Van der Berg, all took a day off to enjoy this Day of Conquest. Why, even grandpa Meesters is coming over, and you should see how old his wheelchair is.

I can't just tell them that maybe it's tomorrow, or the day after that! The whole street is decorated in wonderful bright colors and the local newspaper has promised to send a photographer.

You can imagine I'm in a slight panic here. The folks may knock on the door any mo...DOH!

Very nice, Lil. I didn't get your Donner joke until I read on. I hadn't seen the connection at all.

I did some research and it turns out the Dutch lawbooks say nothing about culinary spanking methods, or CSM. So I guess it's possible, but I hate to think what the kebab may look like afterwards. It's quite a novelty too, as we're more used to Esparagus Flogging and, of course, the traditional Pancake Punishment, which always takes people's breath away.

Salin is almost right. Just about everything in Holland is legal. Just about..
The best law came in effect in the spring of 2004: nobody is allowed to smoke pot or drink Martini's unless in the company of at least 4 wonderful friends. The result 2 years later is that every person in Holland has an absolutely lovely personality and oodles of friends.

This is 21st century politics! With just a stroke of the pen there's only Love here. I'm in the Martini camp myself.....

Here is Mr Donner (or is that you Mahaloofy - nice hat!!!!) - preparing a "Doner Kebab" as we call them in this country. They are tasty (when you are drunk) but full of crapola

English people usually eat them on the way home from the pub, then regret it the next morning

My son's eating habits are disgusting. On Saturday he had cod's roe, chips and chicken curry from the chippie for lunch, chicken madras, rice and a naan which I had made for tea, then he went to work in the pub and had a doner kebab on his way home for supper. He wasn't drunk, he actually likes kebabs. It was impossible to walk past his bedroom door for the next two days without holding your breath.

I think you have the loveliest smile I've seen in ages. Maybe you should try tying the pigtails together on top of your head. Drives the guys crazy!
I did that once to attract girls in a disco, but unfortunately got a *%#load of blokes after me. I only managed to elude them by posing as a Xmas present under a tree.

I am so mad at myself. We just drove from Tennessee across a small bit of Kentucky to Missouri, and back, and all the way I've been worrying with those ***!!@@@&**$%%#!!!!! clues - and now one has just come to me, so I'm 99.9999% sure which "one" I just happened to get wrong.

But wait - if I change one, I have to change another, and then possibly two more. Oh, piffle. Back to the dart board ! ! ! !
