Oh man Dizz you gotta send some of that up North and a bit West please!

Here's what we have. Our snow had almost melted. Those trees were completely bare before yesterday. We had one last pile in the yard (indicated by the arrow) and then RAIN, ICE, WIND, SNOW and yes that's a snow flake on my camera causing that dot. It's still snowing here but at least the ice and rain and wind have stopped.

Maybe Pandy's B&B will slide down here to me! Then I could visit :?

HOLY COW....as I was typing this the snow plow was going by and then didn't!! He slid right into the ditch at the curve in front of my house! He's still upright and I can see he's on his radio...gonna go see if he wants coffee while he waits for another County Truck to come....at least I'm assuming he's calling for that :?

Oh my gosh Bobbin!! I'm sure you're sick of the snow, but it's SO pretty! 8) Asking a snowplow driver to come in for coffee....how sweet is that? :D

Ok all is well. Poor guy! Another truck came and had a winch thing on the front and they hooked up and yanked him out. OH MAN I didn't take a picture DUHHHHHHHH

Oh well. The guy rolled his window down and warned me not to walk on the road but I took a path in front of him where there was still crunchy snow and got a cup to him. The road is just pure ice hidden by crunchy snow! Man this stinks

Pandy where are you? Are you floating down my way yet? Oh and where are my cookies?!

Well, she said she was going to sleep last night, but it sounded like they could be evacuated this morning. So she may have gone already, cuz I haven't heard anything from her either and she usually posts on my Pandybear levels rather quickly.....so.... :?

Hi you two! I can't believe the weather you are getting still but Dizz is right Robyn - it is absolutely beautiful! Hopefully you are going to see spring soon though - do you have any little crocuses peeking through? What's happening now with you both getting freezing conditions?

As I said in my message to you Robyn, we are still playing the waiting game but have a far more positive outlook. Even though my Grizzly thought it was over this morning, I called up our warning bulletin and they said it's not over, so he is now a grumpy Grizzly!

The positive side to this is, that with everything out of my living and dining rooms downstairs, I can easily clean the carpets before putting everything back. That is a real upper for me:)

Must get some cleaning done up here now. We slept most of yesterday away, had dinner with neighbours and slept again. Water is still coming into the crawl space so we are constantly having to keep vigil!

I truly want to hug you two one day!

All three places Robyn!! :D Vegas, Hawaii and London. 8)
I'll help pay for the jet fuel. That is...after I win some big money too! :D

Edit: Almost forgot to tell you Andy, the weather here is back up to mid 60's. It's like, freeze, warm, freeze, warm, etc...here! But no snow!

Great idea Dizzy.. I'd write about all our weather this past winter, but I don't think the server could take a post that long.. to put it in a nut shell we've had tornadoes, Ice storms, snow, rain, flooding .. FEMA has been in to help cleanup fromm the ice storms & the flooding. the flooding is still occuring about 10 miles south of where I live. People have lost thier homes, their farms & everything they own... it's very vary sad.
Our govenment has declaired the area I live in A Disaster Area" there is government assistance available for those that need it.. thank god no one in my family needs it.. although if the flooding doens't stop soon, my parents might.

We are still cleaning up from the ice storms, as I live on 5 wooded acres. We lost about 25 trees, about 50 more have heavy damage, we are hoping they will make a "come back" this summer... only time will tell.

Nice idea for a thread .. but I won't be revisiting it.. I really don't care to "relive" it.

Gosh Laura, sorry you had so much damage to your area!

Our area had the exact same things happening...ice/snow/tornado/rain...we still have huge trees broken off at the very top, dangling dangerously. There's so much to do...even when you think you're done, you see more damaged trees and fences, etc. This winter was horrible for everyone!

This page will be, page one of two, soon and you'll never have to read this again. :D

Mother Nature sure has a way of changing your life around. One day it's hot and the next day your scraping ice off your windshield again.. To bad they couldn't divert some of the water from to floods to some of the places that are in a drought.

That snow sure does look beautiful but I bet you ready for some springtime weather Robyn. I was born and raised in upstate NY so I know all about that snow and the cold weather. I left home after i graduated and ended living back up there, it was to cold for me and just as soon as I got the chance I moved to Arkansas and now I'm in NC, we hardly ever see snow but it sure can get cold.

It's supposed to freeze tonight.

My sister lives in NC Monica - near Roanoke Rapids. They have seen some heavy duty weather in the past, with several hurricanes passing through. I honestly believe that flooding is a lesser of the two evils!

But, I would still prefer the warmer climate! We are going up to almost 20 celcius today (which for the life of me I am now unable to convert into farenheit!). The crocuses and tulips are showing their heads, along with our day lilies! Ain't life beautiful?

So sorry to hear about your fires Monica-ca-ca :( :( :( Poor you - you must have been really worried and scared! How irresponsible of that idiot to flick his ciggie - shame you don't have a Rottweiller to set on him if he shows his face again!

At least you and your property and your neighbours were all safe :D

Take care Monica-ca-ca! x :) x

These Peonies bloom for two days, every Spring (or start to bloom) and then we get the Tornado weather! So sad. :( It usually knocks every single bloom off the stems.
By the way, this Tornado watch is for tonight.

Those are pretty Diz. We've had tornado warnings for about 3 days now. I see it's down below us now. But we sure need the rain.

Wow Marinus, I bet you're tired. What is a 'hectare'?

You have better weather than we do. That's not fair!

Today and yesterday, we had sunshine and beautiful days. Two nights ago, I was huddled down in the closet with my two doggies......the tornado warning came right over us. It was so scary!

ps. Post me a picture of some of the flowers there in NL. :D

An "are" is 10 x 10 meters so 100 square meters. So a hectare is 100 x 100 m , that's 10.000 m2

You got a tornado warning? You mean you didn't have really a tornado? Of course I hope you don't get it. :!:

You know how tulips look like, don't you

Dizzy, the peonies are beautiful. We too are having severe weather AGAIN  (when aren't we having severe weather, this has been the WORST weather I've ever experianced in my life.)

Want to know what I'm worried about .. the farmers haven't even started to plant corn yet.. usually buy now it's in the ground. If they don't get it planted in the next couple of weeks we'll have no corn season. By late fall early winter a bag of chips or a box of cereal will cost about triple what it does now.
Huh... and we thought gas was outrageous

I know Laura; it's really getting scary. Milk is over $4 per gallon already. And aren't they using corn to make Ethanol. Sheesh, if they haven't planted it yet.......that's not good. I usually get the Peaches & Cream Corn, from a roadside farmer, two or three times every Summer. :P (probably not this Summer though, drat) It's SO good!
I don't know how people will afford to live, if things keep going like this.

Well it's pouring down rain here today, they have high wind warnings out and an 80% chance of rain today. I just know it's coming down pretty hard.
The farmer's here already have their crops out, so we got plenty of corn, maybe we can send some your way Laura.
We had one ethanol gas station but they closed it down about a week ago. I thought it was supposed to be cheaper than regular gas but it was the same price.
The gas prices is what's driving our grocery prices up because it costs a small fortune for the companies to run their trucks.

Yeah and that 10% Ethenol gas decreases your gas mileage by about 20%.

There's only one gas station in our area that sells gas without Ethenol. They also give a discount of .03 per gallon if you pay cash, which I always do anyway.

Around here as far as corn goes it's the "Knee high by the fourth of July" standard and it hasn't happened in the last two years cuz of the weather.

Yesterday here was GORGEOUS! Today is crappy but nothing bad really. Just rainy which we need.

Monica you're getting the weather we had yesterday ... it's total crap. Heavy rain, high winds, tornados.. the whole bit
Today it's just very windy, blowing my patio furniture all over the place

Gas went up yesterday from $3.28 per gallon to $3.49 ...    last time I filled my car it cost me $68.00 (at $3.31) can't wait to fill it now
We never got a ethanol gas station, well at least not in Ozark... that'd be to advanced for this podunk town :P
