A game of bullet hell (arcade)

Post by Muzozavr » Sat Aug 30, 2008 10:56 am

Bullet hell -- can YOU survive the curtain of fire?
First of all, what it is? Read up here:
Bullet Hell
Basically, the enemy bullets fill almost the entire screen and are everywhere.

I've found one of these games, they say it's one of the easier games in this genre, I find it hard to believe. Then again, judging by the screenshots of other such things, not hard to believe.

This game is called "Perfect Cherry Blossom" and is in Japanese. I have no idea what they mean, but when you get to the game, the *fun* starts.

Get it here:
Perfect Cherry Blossom

I HAVE gotten to the second stage without losing a life on Easy mode, but that second stage ripped me to shreds.

Could you play this insanity?

EDIT: Hey, what's up with the links?!
Rest in peace, Kym. I hardly knew ya.
Rest in peace, Marinus. A bright star, you were ahead of me on my own tracks of thought. I miss you.

OK, I've just found the "full" version which has three more levels, and music in PCM which expands it to 400+ MB.  AND THERE they remove your LIFEBAR. One hit and you die, forced to use a continue. Even on EASY mode. And some of these bullet patterns are just like ungodly hard to dodge.
If you aren't playing Practice Mode, of course. But Practice Mode can only play stages that you have done in "real" gameplay, so it doesn't actually matter much.

EDIT: Sorry, it turned out that the copy I've downloaded, was played by someone else and set on most manic settings they could find. Set to the demo's defaults, and with continues managed to get to the 5th stage, the second boss, before they finally beaten me.

I love insanity.

OK, I've played this again, using the easiest settings. Easy mode, 5 lives, Sayuke as a character, blue spellcards...
And I still had to use three continues, this close to using the fourth one. (there are 5) But I did it! :P
Bad Ending No 3, due to using the continues.
But I did it!

P.S. The final bosses are OBSCENE. I wish I knew how they look on Lunatic, I love insanity, but I can't get to there on Lunatic!
