Good luck Dylan, I certainly hope everything is alright for you, and everybody. I hate hurricanes, and because of that, we do not plan to stay in S. TX. Our weather has been very dry and we desperately need rain, but not a Dennis, thank you very much. I feel so sorry for Floridians. You suffer so much, thanks to mother nature.

Take care, travel safely and let us know when you're back and hopefully everything will be OK for you.

HI All,

People are already leaving Fla,Hurricane Dennis is suppose to arrive in Fla on Sunday.
In Ga right now we are suppose to just have flooding,it all depends on the path that Hurricane Dennis takes. I am in between Fla and Alabama but closer to Alabama line.

Gen, please take care and I hope you and your family survive Hurricane Dennis! Stay in touch as long as you can please.

Take Care Dylan and stay safe!

From what Dylan1298 said, he has already left. The area where he lives was hit very hard by Ivan last year, so I don't blame him. Many in that area are still re-building from last year. I hope all in that area stay safe. The last I heard, Dennis is supposed to hit somewhere between New Oleans, LA and the Panhandle of FL. The thing that is so worrisome is that these things can change direction at any time - like Charley did last year. So Dennis could potentially hit any state that borders the Gulf of Mexico.

Thank you so much for your thoughts. At the moment, it looks like Dennis will pass about 150 to the west of where I am. We will probably get some wind and rain from the feeder bands. We are under a coastal flood watch, but not a hurricane watch or warning. So I should still be around unless I lose power. Last year, I was lucky when Charley, Francis and Jeanne came through this area - never lost power for long and didn't have any really bad damage. Others were out for days and are still re-building.

For those of you interested, this is a good site for hurricane updates.

Thanks again for your concern!

Gen, hopefully you'll get a miss this time around. Cat, I hope the flooding is at a minimum. We typically get parts of the hurricanes that come this way, but by the time it gets here, it's usually down to a tropical storm. Winds still in the 50's and 60's gusts 70 or more. The worst damage comes from the flooding and high tides. Two years ago , we got a direct hit from Isabell. My county was devastated. We had no electricity for almost two weeks and at first could find no ice to keep things cold. The county didn't start brining in ice until 5 days after the hurricane. Showers weren't to be had for a week. Many here are still rebuilding. Let us know if any of you need help.

Thanks Sharon, I don't think I have anything to worry about, at least I hope not. Im a more concerned for the ones that have to face Hurricane Dennis or loose everything that they own.

Thanks
