Favourite Food!

Post by Lillian » Wed Oct 12, 2005 11:17 am

There hasn't been much "chit-chat" lately so I thought I would start some

What is your favourite thing to eat?

I love foooood but if I had to chose it would be hot bagels filled to the brim with soft cheese and crispy bacon. I love chinese too - but my other favourite is Mexican and would have to be sizzling chicken fajitas!

Jacket spud with cheese and beans (if you like cheese and you like beans then you'll love .. Cheesy Beans    )

Quite partial to an onion bagel filled with salad and, of course, chocolate and ice cream

Actually, all time fave meal would be a Sunday Roast me thinks (especially with Mum's home-made gravy)

You know me - Nosey Rosey! I love a good rummage on your site. As a litttle girl, my mum had so many interesting drawers in her dressing table - I was always in trouble for rummaging in them  I still love a good old nose around in peoples' drawers even now  Good luck for tomorrow - thinking of you as always hon x

Anything Italian for me -- and a medium rare barbequed steak. I've even had spaghetti & steak together. Also, I'm a dessert freak -- any kind, any color, anything.

I don't have a favorite foods, I loved pepperoni pizza extra cheese, barbecue food, steaks and hamburgers, pork and french fries. I love fresh cooked bread. Peanut buster parfaits, hmmmmm, brownies! I loved grits too, but I like the yellow grits better, lots of butter and eggs sunny side up.

I better stop, all of that talk food is making me hungry. :) :) :) :)

I really like the "Olive Garden's" eggplant parmesian with fettuccini alfredo on the side! That taste combo plus their garlic breadsticks suit my tastebuds to a T! Also love bacon and eggs with grits! Now I'm hungry!

Grits are a hot breakfast cereal made from corn or hominy. I like mine with salt, pepper, and butter and then I mix my over easy fried eggs in to them!! Yum Yum!
Gen, you must be a country girl! I was born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida so grits were a main part of breakfast for us!!

You are right Donna! I like my grits the same way! Yummy! Lillie, it is ground corn, slightly more coarse than corn meal. It is also called southern ice cream. Some people like cheese melted into to their grits.

Yep, I was born about 30 miles from Ocala, Florida, out in the sticks.

ok..ok... you people talking about all this good mexican food must stop. Since I've moved to Missouri I haven't had any. People here think Taco Bell is good Mexican food.

We had a chili contest at work about 2 weeks ago. I had my girlfriend in Colorado FedEx me some frozen, fresh roasted green chile's. I made a big pot of green chile (chile verde) to enter in the contest, and not one person knew what is was, or had ever heard of it.
I didn't win, :( but every last bite was gone.... & I've had people ask me to make more to bring to work. :D :D

But hey, I'd never heard of a fried pickle before I move here... & no I haven't tried one, nor do I intend to.

P.S. I guess I'd have to change my favorite food to Mexican, or anything ethnic for that matter. :D :D

Dylan1298, I'm not much of a cook but I have made ribeye in my broiler and I think it comes out pretty tasty. I usually get 2 average size ribeyes (no bone and not the thin cut). Kind of pricey but still cheaper than going out for steak! I make sure the broiler part of the stove is heated up before I put the pan with the steaks in. I prepare them by piercing them with a fork a few times to maybe tenderize them a little (probably not necessary since they are usually tender) and then I rub lemon pepper on both sides. When the Oven or broiler is hot, I cook them about 7 or 8 minutes on each side to get medium to well done. You can adjust the time if you like rare or well done. You can use other seasoning too!

Definitely getting hungry here. Gonna have to wake up my oldest son up so we can have lunch.

Favorite food would have to be foods. Chinese, Crab Rangoon if it's made right. Mexican, homemade enchiladas and quesadillas. Pizza's always good, pepperoni, all meat. Lasagna is always a good bet, especially the way my mom makes it. Dessert, Cheesecake all the way baby! My second older brother and I could each eat a whole cheesecake and not share any. Although, he's worse than I am with it.

K. Gonna get up and around to get the little ones fed as well as myself fed.

Later
