OK, here's how I have been picturing the members of my Wonderland family.

DiscGolfer
DG is obviously a terrifically athletic man who is very successful in sports. Although he says he’s 46 and balding, I don’t believe him. I think our disc golf champion must be a young stud. I see him as over six feet tall, with great muscles, including an impressive six-pack. He also has a dazzling amount of patience and a very winning smile. He has brown hair and brown eyes, and in the summer he sports one heck of a good tan. He wears casual, sporty clothing and he pretty much always wears athletic shoes.

Robbie
I see Robbie as a relatively young guy, since he tells us he has two daughters and the youngest in under one year. So he’s probably about 30. He has light brown wavy hair and blue eyes. He’s about 5’11” and rather physically fit. He wears glasses and he has a very kind face, with a big smile for everyone. He is very much a family man. His style of dress is casual but neat and clean-cut. On weekends Robbie wears safari shorts and polo shirts.

M.A.D.
I know JUST what M.A.D. looks like, since she has already told us: She looks like Loof’s sister! Well, except I think she probably is less yellow. She’s 53, but since she lives in the UK where the sun doesn’t shine much, she has a lovely pale, creamy complexion and very few wrinkles. The only exception to this is her forehead, where she has some empathy lines because she’s such a caring friend to all. We know she’s a wee-one, stature-wise, just a nip over 5’1”, and tho she says she wants to lose 6 lbs, I’m guessing she’s pretty tiny, about a size 3 or 5. She has medium-length, dark hair, straight unless permed, and her eyes are brown. She effects a casual style of dress and wears sensible shoes.

Ol’ gramma
Well, ol’ gramma SAYS she’s old, but I think she’s not your “typical” gramma with an afghan and cane. Since she’s a decorative artist living in Chicago, I see her as rather sophisticated, tall, slim and elegant. Her hair is a bit wavy and shoulder-length, with maybe a little gray. She’s very attractive and lives in an elegant home with real art on the walls. At home she dresses casually chic, but when she goes out on the town it’s dresses and heels for this gramma. She’s in her early 60s, but she doesn’t look her age!

Janetgalle
Janet tells us she’s a grandmother, but I think she’s a very young grannie, about 44 or 45. Says she’s a baker, and I picture her with hair pulled back in a ponytail or bun to keep it out of the bread and cakes. Her hair is light brown, with just a fine dusting of flour, and her eyes are hazel. She’s 5’5” and about 5 to 10 pounds overweight, but it’s a work hazard for her because she has to taste all the yummy things she makes for the rest of us. She dresses casually, wears an apron in the kitchen, and likes to wear comfy shoes.

Eeyore31
Eeyore is one of my very first Wonderland buddies, and I’ve had a vivid picture of her in my mind for quite some time. She’s a down-home girl, about 5’8” and strong. Good muscles in her arms from driving that tri-axle every summer, and great calf and thigh muscles from kickboxing. Dark blond hair pulled back off her face, and big brown eyes. She is wearing a Wonderland t-shirt, jeans and tennis shoes. In the summer she gets a lot of sun on her face and arms from working outside, and she has little lines at the corners of her eyes from squinting and also from laughing so much.

Majic1
Majic is a lady with sparkle in her eyes. She’s very clever and a bit devilish at times. She’s also very pretty. Having moved around a lot, she’s comfortable in just about any situation and has a lot of confidence. She has short dark brown hair, cut in kind of a boyish style, and her eyes are green. She’s in her early 50s, is 5’6” and is in very good physical condition. She prefers to wear shorts, sleeveless blouses and sandals.

Jperleevt
I see Jen as a young woman, probably late 20s, 5’9” and slim, dishwater blond hair and brown eyes. She’s a very agreeable sort who tends to get along well with everyone. She likes to ski and ice skate, and she goes hiking in the summer, and that keeps her in good shape despite spending her working hours at a computer. She’s single but she has a steady guy.

Bearsland
Bear is a highly intelligent, logical sort of fellow, and he reads a lot. He likes to think of himself as a gruff ol’ bear, but I think he’s really a Teddy bear at heart. He’s about 6 feet tall, and kind of a big-boned, stocky guy. He has curly, reddish hair and a beard. His eyes are brown. He likes to wear jeans, t-shirts and hiking boots and breaks out in a rash if he is ever required to wear a tie.

SharonM
Sharon is the teacher that all the students adore. She’s in her 40’s, and raising teens is keeping her young (rather than wearing her down and making her old, as it does to some folks.) She has light brown hair with a touch of red, and light brown eyes with little flecks of green. She likes to stay home and make brownies and has built a very warm and cozy nest for her family. She tends to wear pastel colors, and despite owning a lot of casual clothing, every now and then she prefers to wear a dress or skirt because she has terrific legs.

Malcdelsol and Jan
Malc is a tall, handsome, dapper man who would look good in an evening jacket and ascot, tho he doesn’t find much occasion to wear this sort of thing. Instead, he tends to wear nice slacks and shirts with the cuffs rolled up to expose his forearms. He usually wears sunglasses when outside. He prefers loafers to athletic shoes. He’s 53, tanned and fit. He has wavy dark hair and dark brown eyes. He’s a very smart and somewhat mischievous guy, and he likes to tease the ladies

Jan has been pretty quiet, so I can only make the wildest guesses about her based on what I imagine about Malc. I think she’s about 5 to 8 years younger than Malc, petite, pretty and very tolerant. She has wavy brown hair and brown eyes. She likes to wear tailored shorts or slacks, along with the occasional skirt, and for shoes she likes flats in colors to match her outfits. When she’s out in the sun, she wears a hat.

CAT
Cat is a sweet southern belle, born and raised in Georgia. She’s a cute 46 and she married young. She likes boating and fishing and spends a lot of time outdoors with her family. She’s a good housekeeper and a wonderful cook who especially like to barbeque. She has wavy light brown hair, blue eyes and tends to burn a bit in the sun because she has delicate skin. She’s about 5’3” and she dresses casually most of the time.

Popo
Popo is a bit on the eccentric side, thoroughly enjoys life and loves a good joke. She’s 5’6”, with brown wavy hair, brown eyes and lotsa curves. She’s a good cook and loves
to feed her family. She has two sons and she can’t wait to have grandkids so she can spoil them and bake them cookies. She likes to wear casual dresses when she goes to the market, and sometimes she wears a scarf over her head when she goes outside in chilly weather.

Carolyn
Carolyn strikes me as a young mom, about 29, happily raising two little kids and married to a man she adores. She’s 5’6”, a slim brunette with striking green eyes. She’s very creative and has ambitions to be a writer. She’s a jeans and sneakers kinda gal, and she makes her own jewelry.

BINA
Bina is an elegant young woman with dark blond hair and blue eyes. She’s tall, at least 5’9”, and slim and very physically active. Around the house she likes to wear sweats, jeans and t-shirts, but when she gets a chance to get out on the town she shows off her lovely form with fashionable designer clothing. She used to drive a sports car, but now that she has a husband, a small child and a dog, she has traded that in for a compact little station wagon. She loves to cook, and makes some very elegant meals.


Old Pete
I don’t know much about Old Pete, but from the little I have to go on, I’d say he’s a rather quiet guy. Been around Wonderland for more than two months, but he doesn’t post much. Since he works in the electronic security field, I see him as one of those very sharp types who doesn’t miss a thing. When he goes to a business meeting he wears a tie and carries a lot of pens and pencils. He’s 5’10”, brown eyes, brown hair but with gray at the temples. He’s told us he’s 62, but he thinks of himself as a young 62 and keeps himself in good physical condition.

Jersey
Jersey is young (early 30s, I believe she said) and perky and is known for saying what she thinks. She has a lot of girlfriends, and enjoys a good gab session. She has auburn hair and brown eyes and she’s 5’6” tall. When she goes to work she dresses very professionally, in smart business clothing, but when she gets home she can’t wait to get into her comfy sweats and bunny slippers. After all, it’s cold in Nova Scotia and since she’s on the thin side she has a hard time staying warm.

Salin
I see Salin as having very pale blond hair and light blue eyes. She’s about 5’5” and neither too thin nor too heavy. She married and started her family very young, and now she tends to walk around with a dazed expression caused by finding herself once again the mother of a child not quite out of diapers. She tends to wear a lot of wool sweaters and slacks and fur-lined boots. She’s been skiing for most of her life and she’s quite good at it.

Little JG
He’s still only 6 going on 7, and yet Little JG is already making his own levels! He is a very smart kid. He probably does well in school and is becoming a pretty good reader also. I see him with little sun freckles and reddish-brown hair. He wears his hair cut pretty short. In the summer he likes to wear cut-offs and surfer t-shirts, but since he lives in North Dakota he spends a lot of time in jeans and sweatshirts. He rides a bike and a skateboard and he has at least one skinned knee.

53, tanned ( of course!) not too much hair at the top, the rest is grey. Brown eyes, glasses, have worked very hard to get his tummysize big enough. (please don`t be affended, no harm in this) A very kind and playful man, loves practical jokes.

Cat:
46, tanned, short, red hair, green eyes. Small and slim. Loves to be at the beach.

Popo:
50, brown hair, blue eyes, small with medium building. A very nice ladie.

42 years, brown hair, brown eyes, normal buildt, normal heights.

Bina:

Petite with medium length, light brown hair, blue green eyes, nice tan. Encouraging and funny comments, great sense of humor. Dianna posted the very first Custom Level on the forum, and has made some fun to play levels.

#12 – Robbie....Austrailia
Medium stocky build, fair skin, brown eyes, light brown curly hair. Wears a hat like Crocodile Dundee. Robbie needs a lot of room and wide open spaces…. his levels are too big to see at one time, even in 3 parts.

#24 - M.A.D…. N Ireland, UK
We all know that Maureen is a wee lass: Tall, willowy....and absolutely gorgeous… she told us. She has medium brown short hair, blue eyes that twinkle with laughter, and….. little feet. A mischievous sense of humor. Besides being a cheerleader for every single level submitted, and the level maker as well, she has made some very good levels herself. Always positive, a friend to all. Picture Me is her idea.

One of 3 Carolyn’s on the forum. Started undercover as a blue/gray donkey, but by now we know she isn’t one. Medium athletic build, medium height, nice tan in the summer, brown eyes, medium length, sun streaked light brown hair that she wears in a pony tail. . Very encouraging and helpful. One of the first members to be very helpful to me when I joined. Started a new trend using forum member’s names in her levels … And is the creator of ol’gramma’s dogs.

Julie has dark brown, short, curly hair, is medium tall in height, has dimples, and a devilish twinkle in her brown eyes. Very high energy, prolific level maker, never runs out of good ideas, she is majic. Lives in a very, very large house with lots of rooms on many acres, she likes space…..her levels are HUGE. Very encouraging and helpful. Willing to stand up for what she believes.

From Scotland, so has to be a younger Sean Connery007 look-alike. He likes techie stuff, the first to have a phone in his shoe. Tall, athletic build, hazel eyes, sandy colored hair. Distant relative Yogi came to the US and established Yogi Bear Jellystone Park. He is known for his dry humor in his level comments.

Tall. thin build, salt and pepper hair, mustache, olive suntanned complexion, glasses. Once he starts a level, he gets a devilish glint in his brown eyes. Jan is small with light brown hair and blue eyes…..She watches Malc design his levels and gives him good ideas.

Cathy is a Georgia Peach. Medium brown pony tail, brown eyes, petite with a medium complexion that tans easily. A member just making herself known, and has just started making levels. Very shy….. She was willing to go along with this nuttiness.

Popo is tall, has medium length salt and pepper hair, brown eyes, glasses or contacts. Cautious and shy at first, but once she knows the situation, she opens up and has a good sense of humor. Her levels were intricate, right from the first.

Small in height and build, hair is blond, brown eyes. Wears a baseball cap with the pony tail sticking out in back. Jeans and t shirts are her favorite clothes. Has small children and uses every spare minute to create for Wonderland.. Likes to write in shorthand. Always appreciative of comments on her levels.

Very blonde medium length hair, medium tall height and slim build , fair skinned, blue/green eyes and very athletic. Writes beautifully in English.. Always encouraging and gracious in her comments. Makes very beautiful Danish levels…..that are tricky to play.

From only a few posts, he hasn’t told us much as yet to get mental picture, but I think he is medium tall in height, medium build, lots of salt and pepper curly hair, blue eyes, fair complexion. Wears a Touring cap while driving his convertible. He is very charming……….. he said so.

Joyce is the only one on the forum with red hair. Has blue eyes and fair complexion, medium tall height. Mischievous, never runs out of words, and she knows how to speak in legal terms as well. Has made some nice levels that were fun to play.

Inger is very tall with very long dark blonde hair that she wears in a pony tail sometimes.…blue eyes. Fair complexion. She, too, writes beautifully in English. Very positive and gracious. She has made some very nice levels….she likes electricity.

Okay - here's mine - my biggest problem is that when I picture you guys out there in Wonderland, I picture nothing but beautiful people!

#7 – Discgolfer – 5’10”, brown hair, brown eyes; in good physical shape; short beard; likes to read; loves people and also loves to surprise other people;has lots of energy and his students think he's #1.

#8 Dianna – 5’4”, brunette, short hair w/slight curl, brown eyes, takes good care of herself; a very hard worker but also loves her fun time. She loves red; very sure of herself.

#12 Robbie – 5’8”, sandy (wavy) blonde hair, green eyes; a slight mustache, good looking guy; very energetic and loves going to extremes.

#24 – Davimad – 5’2”, dark brown, short hair; brown (bright) eyes; nice figure although she probably doesn’t think so; the nicest person on the block; she gets along with everybody – but will try to avoid people with no common sense! She can be LOTS of FUN when she “lets her hair down”!!!!)

#30 – Ol-Gramma – 5’5”, not as old as she tries to make us think (at all); light brown, sort of curly hair; blue sparkly eyes; slim and in good shape; she is not impressed by people with “things” – intelligent people impress her; she is also very energetic & likes a good laugh. Fun person to hang out with!!

#31 – Janetgalle – 5’4”, reddish brown hair; kind brown eyes; wears glasses; she takes care of herself; her family comes before her; she likes blue; an extremely creative person; she should think about inventing something.

#41 – Eeyore31 – 5’3”, short, beautiful blonde hair, brown eyes; in VERY good shape; extremely energetic; a kind person who finds it hard to even kill a fly; people just naturally like her - and she loves to cook wonderful, fattening things!!!

#48 – Majic1 – ME – the witch of Wonderland – like ol’gramma, I’m flying over Wonderland right now – although I AM on a broom!!!!! Also known as the Wonderland Devil Child. Sometimes speaks before she thinks.

#55 – Jperleevt – Jen – when I think of that name, I picture my sister. So I think of her as 5’6”, slim build, light blue eyes, long brown hair; (very Irish looking), great sense of humor and also an energetic person; appreciates good food & is a fantastic & creative cook.

#66 – Bearsland – 5’11-3/4” (exactly); 180 lbs; brunette, brown eyes; beard & mustache (short); the “peacemaker”; intelligent, loving person but I wouldn’t want to get on his bad side. Loves to eat but tries to eat sensibly (not always successfully). Loves adventure. (He says he's 42, but he's really 45.)

#68 – SharonM – 5’5”, light brown, shoulder-length hair; pretty brown eyes; tries to stay in shape; wears contact lenses; a very sensible person; intelligent and knows it but doesn’t talk or brag about it; she takes pride in everything she does; and a person who can laugh at herself! She is also a lot of fun!

#93 – Malcdelsol – 5’9”, Black hair, dark brown eyes; a nice smile; medium build; also intelligent and his mind never stops working – even at sleep; loving, caring person whose always on the go.

#98 – CAT – 5’5”, brown hair, green eyes, beautiful smile; happy go-lucky but only in front of people she knows; wonderful sense of humor, but somewhat shy.

#111 – Popo – 5’1”, light blonde, green eyes; energetic; best friend you could ever have; she’s probably the life of the party when she let’s herself go out, which isn’t often because she’s always so busy taking care of business!!! She’s prettier than she thinks she is!

#121 – Carolyn – 5’4”, Dark blonde, blue eyes; loves pastels; wonderful cook; she tries to do everything all at once because she knows she can; she loves to be organized but can’t always make it happen.

#122 – Bina – 5’5”, medium colored blonde, blue-green eyes; family oriented; very educated and always trying to learn more, more, more; respected by all who know her.

#139 – Old Pete – 5’10-1/2”, 175 lbs., grey hair which is dyed light brown because his hair use to be blonde at one time; light blue eyes; very energetic; probably known in his circle as “the ladies’ man.”

#206 – Jersey – 5’7”, dark blonde hair; green eyes; she is in good shape; she’s full of energy and would rather play than sleep. Even at sleep, her mind never stops working; always looking for something new to learn.

#209 – Salin – 5’4”, ash blonde, blue-green eyes, highly intelligent; can’t get enough of ANYthing she likes; if she’s not in Wonderland, she’s either cleaning something or busy with her family.

#264 – Little JG – Our Wonderland Mascot!! Beautiful blonde hair that sparkles in the sunlight; deep blue eyes; a very giggly little gentleman; but also has extremely good manners and has respect for those more knowledgeable than him.

Trustworthy. Doesn’t like to be yelled at. Enjoys a quiet moment.

12 Robbie 30, 5’9”, medium build, brown shoulder length hair, brown eyes. He wears crisp dark jeans with a blue shirt tucked in. Happy with life, has lots of friends. A face that turns the girls heads. Very respectable, and quiet.

24 Davimad (Maureen) 46, 5’9”, light brown hair, blue eyes, dresses to kill when she goes out. but has a pair of comfy sweats to sit on the couch sipping cocoa and watching it rain. Tackles a lot of different jobs, doesn’t leave enough time for herself. A real sharp mind. Her close friends tell her their secrets. Nice smile.

30 ol Gramma 60, 5’5”, medium build, strong, auburn hair with a hint of gray, bright sharp blue eyes, doesn’t take bull from people. I see her planting beautiful flowers beside her white picket fence. Has worked hard her whole life, but always makes time for everyone that needs her. She wears a plaid dress and her house smells like cookies. Has a wild streak in her eyes.

31 Janetgalle 42, 5’7”, a little on the thin side, but strong, dark brown long pulled back hair and dark brown eyes. She wears dress pants and a nice blue shirt. A real family girl, if single....she would have been a business woman at the top of a large company. Very sweet.

41 Eeyore31 that’s me, ageless donkey, 2’3”, grayish blue fur, black sad eyes, loves to walk through the hundred acre wood, gets upset when tail falls off. Likes pink bows.

48 Majic1 50, 5’10”, slender, long black hair and sharp green eyes, she wears a wrap-around long black skirt with a leopard print top. Bright red painted long fingernails. Jumps to a quiet persons defense, but sometimes doesn’t look before she leaps. Strong minded, determined and smart. Takes control when things get out of hand. Good heart.

55 Jperleevt (Jen) 48, 5’7”, medium to slender build, long dirty blond hair, soft blue/gray eyes, very smart but quiet. Thinks out problems rationally. She wears a brown fuzzy loose sweater with her jeans. Her house is spotless, and she puts extra care into things she does. A good friend to all, but doesn’t have enough time to see them much. Pretty smile.

66 Bearsland 47, 6’2”, medium build with a tummy, very short brown hair with a little gray, dark brown eyes, finds the time to kick back and enjoy a good laugh. Loves a good old fashioned cooked meal, teased the girls when younger. Flirts with the ladies but very honest and trustworthy. Makes a good grandpa. Can be a real character at a get-together.

Fun to go shopping with and very practical. Although she is very smart about a lot of things, she listens more than she talks. She wears faded jeans, and a soft green top.

93 Malcdelsol 55, 6’1”, chubby belly but medium built. Short brown hair with twinkling gray eyes. A real jokester. He wears casual dress pants with long tailed blue shirt. Good help around the house, when nudged. Good head on his shoulders and a big heart.

98 Cat 30 5’2”, skinny, short blond hair and dark brown eyes. Can’t sit still for very long. Wearing a pair of jeans and a little tiny red top, she jumps at the chance to go do something different. Grabs life by the horns, loves her family to pieces.

111 Popo 25 5’1”, very small, pretty light brown hair and blue eyes. She dresses real cute, and always keeps her eye out for something special to come. Very innocent to the world, very trusting. Loves to go out with her close friends.

121 Carolyn 43 5’7”, medium build, fairly short dark blond hair, bright brown eyes. A real down to earth person. Doesn’t mind dressing up, but would rather be comfy and at home. Could do anything she sets her mind to do, and understands the enjoyment of walking barefoot, or a quiet evening sitting on the porch.

122 Bina 22 5’2”, tiny built. Long brown hair, brown eyes. She wears a little green skirt with a brown tiny top. She could do anything she wants, but enjoys the simple pleasures. Can be quiet but is always thinking.

139 Old Pete 55, 5’10”, chunky built, light brown hair with a touch of gray, and eyes so blue they sparkle. Wearing a comfy pair of casual pants, and a green plaid shirt, he enjoys mowing the lawn and tinkering in the garage. Always has time to stop and help a neighbor in trouble. Tells good jokes, and laughs at the silly things he sometimes does.

206 Jersey 27, 5’5”, thin, long dark brown hair and brown eyes. Loves to go out to the movies, but gets restless easy. Bright-eyed, very smart. Loves dogs. She would make a good nurse.

209 Salin 23, 5’7”, medium build, short blond hair, blue eyes. She doesn’t know what she wants in life yet, but she tries a lot of different things. She can be silly, but a very hark worker when it’s something she likes to do. Carefree, smiles a lot.

264 Little JG 8, 4’5”, chubby, very short brown hair and puppy dog brown eyes. With freckles on his cheeks, his smile can rip your heart out. He wears baggy jeans and won’t tuck his shirt in. A real little devil, and very intelligent. He will break the girls hearts, and make someone a wonderful pap pap in about 50 years.

I wasn't actually moving, but the bike started to tip sideways in the mud, and rather than drown in a 3 foot mud puddle with a bike on top of me, I dove off in the other direction. My b/f's father was behind me,and said he couldn't believe how graceful I was! He said it was just like the old western movies where the hero dives from his horse!

Actually, I sprained my hands trying to keep control of the bike in the deep mud holes...I only got really muddy when I jumped. Now I have an excuse to get dirty playing in the mud.

BTW - only one person has come close to guessing me, and even then she only came close! But everyone does make me feel good!

Man, you ladies have some great tales to tell (and OldPete). I’m a bit worried though you’re going to be devastated when I don’t come out looking like say, Pierce Brosnan or a younger Sean Connery. There’s bits of truth in a number of the guestimates…

I’m going to have to go along with Bear as far as guessing goes. I haven’t read enough posts to give a detailed account of our Wonderland family members but generally I’ve sort of developed an image based on names & locations (and in some cases age). And I haven’t listed everyone, if I haven’t got a clue or serious thought, I haven’t said anything… and reading these comments you may well wonder why I put anything down at all.

I kinda get a warm fuzzy feeling about our grandmas. You know like when your in front of a fire, cozy chair, slippers, hot cocoa & the tv channels just gone… there’s a warmth with them but just a hint of something to get you out of your seat – no canes & blue (???) hair for our gals. Oh and Di’s revelations have lowered your ages a good 20-30 years.

DG – I can’t help but wonder. I picture DG as a very enthusiastic teacher loved by students that can be easily sidetracked by students when they bring up a fave interest (like Wonderland). This is as definite as any of my descriptions will get. I actually had an art teacher with these qualities in high school. He had a passion for The Doors – we listened to their music, watched some videos & I can’t for the life of me remember if they had anything at all to do with our studies…

Bear – You know that kids program Bear in the Big Blue House? Picture what his father might look like, a little older, little more serious (which gives a whole lot of leeway), deeper voice. Still has some moves.

Bina, Salin & Cat – conjure up images in my mind (yes I know you’re worried) of Catwoman from the 1960’s 70’s Batman series. I don’t recall if she was naughty of nice but these girls are of the nice variety – Bina & Salin with blond hair, Cat with dark.

Jersey - … I’ve seen a few out in a field. Sorry, no resemblance though – this image won’t help at all.
Eeyore – again, a blue donkey…

Malcdesol – can’t help but think of Julio Iglesias . I picture him with a guitar singing to Jan

OldPete – a gentleman – though the image comes to my mind of an old sailor standing on the warf – I don’t know why (does anyone?) Oh, and with an English mac & umbrella – Popo shorter & younger by his side and also with a mac & brolli. Why the accessories? I went to England back in ’90 – spent 3 weeks there & only saw the sun briefly on 2 days… and if you squint real hard you can see Maureen across the water.

Jen – I don’t know what to say, I’m flattered… I’ll have to show this to my wife if ever she’s having doubts. I’d have to fit you in with our beautiful Catwoman girls and not just to return the compliment.

… and how could I forget little JG. Cute little man with hair ruffed up from all the doting grandparents and a big cheesy grin.



Again I’m lost for words (which may surprise you) – references to my good tan, being xtreemly handsome, athletic & hot would leave no doubt in my wife’s mind that you must be referring to someone completely different. I do however love a good story which reminds me of one…

Having spent a good number of years as a bachelor I had plenty of spare time and became quite proficient in many of the finer arts. No… not painting & sculpting - stuff like vacuuming, cleaning, cooking & ironing.

… Well, I was OK at vacuuming & cleaning, I kept my place tidy but I didn’t do myself any injuries or stress related damage – I did once tell a mate that worked at a service station (petrol station) that if I ever got married he’d be able to see his reflection in my hub caps… 5 years on into wedded bliss that’s still an intention to be realised… don’t tell my wife that. My idea of washing the car is to move it out of the garage when it’s raining…

… And as for cooking, well, I didn’t starve – I basically cooked the same thing every night… yes, every night (and after 6 or 7 years I actually got quite good at it). I don’t have a lot of patience when it comes to cooking for myself. If it takes longer than 5 minutes to prepare & 10-15 minutes to cook it’s too long… Once while my wife was away visiting her parents, I did get adventurous and attempt some scones… and they didn’t turn out too bad. When the dust & flour settled though, there was sooo much cleaning. Every cupboard and drawer was open, I’d been through half the cutlery & at least half a dozen bowls & pans… and there was flour everywhere… aargh! Thankfully my wife is a beautiful cook, and her food is great as well.

But I have to say that I became something of a virtuoso when it came to the ironing. I had honed my skills to perfection. Not a crease, not a mark were to be found on my clothes – a talent obviously lost on my wife as she didn’t trust me at all with the task.
About a month into married life, one morning, we were running late for work (we both worked for my parents at their accounting office). She jumped in the shower and a couple of minutes later as I passed by the door, she appeared from behind the shower curtain and said with a smile – and no, it’s not what first came to your mind… she said, ”Robbie, could you iron our clothes for me?”, once again slipping behind the curtain. At last, my moment had come… after all this time, she realised the exceptional talent I possessed & entrusted to me the preparation of our clothing. Uplifted, I started for the ironing board. After only a few steps I was pulled up as she called out again, “Don’t do a really good job, just iron them like you usually do” …….
